Some Catching Up To Do

Ah today is the day where I play catch up because if I don't my blog will be filled with "tags," "awards," more book chapters, and many more things that just keep filling my blogging journal. I quite honestly don't see how I can accomplish it all. So here goes.

The first thing is the recent tagging of my blog which thanks to all of you tagging me has brought me some great followers now. Gotta love it when your follower count goes up and to me, it means they found something here that they really enjoy. So my credit for all the tagging goes to Christy at The Secret Life Of An American Wife and Mom, Andrea at Arise 2 Write and Rosel at Off the Beaten Trek.

If you haven't stopped by one of these brilliant woman's blogs, please take a few moments and do so. They are not only some great writers that will make you smile, laugh, cry and just realize you're not alone, but my newest blogging friends as well. So with no further ado....my tagging commitments.

8 Things I am Looking Forward To:

1. Maintaining a loving relationship with my hubby due to his ever increasing work schedule. Life has been a bit more than strained lately and we need some time to rebuild.

2. Watching my kids grow more this year than in years past. I want to establish a more solid foundation with each of them individually to inspire and motivate them to become better people in the world.

3. Complete my book and begin the rigors of trying to get it published. I have had very positive reviews with a independent book reviewer and possibly publisher so far. Now I just need to finish it. But it's my baby and I want it to be more than good so I am taking the time needed to polish it and add the details I feel it deserves.

4. Vacation. Our family desperately needs a family vacation this year to help us re bond. Too much work and no play makes for a very dull family.

5. Re-establishing contact with all my estranged family members. The last to come, my father. Hopefully that will work itself out by the end of the year.

6. Finding some sanity in date nights with hubby. We need time for just us so we can remember how strong our family can be. We have a tendency of putting this last and we are paying for it.

7. Completing a joint book with my brother. He has some great ideas and once I am finished with my first, I would like to see where this one goes.

8. Having more time with hubby. Hopefully this job will slow down so he isn't traveling as much. Perhaps a move to the Pacific Northwest once and for all. Just waiting on God's leading there.

8 Things I Did Yesterday:

1. Painted my master bedroom. Now it's finally a color both me and hubby love.

2. Took the kids and their friends roller skating for Christian night at our local skating rink.

3. Posted Chapter 4 of my proposed book on my blog.

4. Slept in til 10am. WOO HOO No school!

5. Sent my first chapter to a book reviewer to see how it might go in the publishing world.

6. Played Webkinz.

7. Looked through old family pictures and uploaded them.

8. Began planning my soon to be 16 year olds birthday party.

8 Things I wish I could do:

1. Play the piano.

2. Be a Gourmet Chef.

3. Write creatively non stop.

4. Exercise more.

5. Maintain better contact with my friends.

6. Fix my computer when it crashes.

7. Sing really well, enough to enjoy it and get paid doing it.

8. Live in another country, like Scotland.

8 Shows I Enjoy:

1. Grey's Anatomy.

2. Private Practice.

3. The Mentalist

4. Mental

5. The Apprentice

6. The Bachlorette

7. Survivor

8. Ghost Whisper

1st Folder, 10th Picture, Scenic Clouds for potential blog idea!

6th Folder, 6th Picture, My flowers that came back after a tough winter here!

The last thing I need to do is to acknowledge an award I received from Lidj at Crown of Beauty called the Kreativ Blogger award on June 25th. I have received one similar but not the same. She is such a beautiful and loving person once you visit her site and see just how much she cares not only about her own country in the Philippines but for everyone everywhere. She is one to be admired.

The rules that go with this award are to list 7 things you love that show your creativity, then link back to the person who gave you the award, and pass it along to 7 other bloggers.

1. I love to write creatively. I took a science fiction writing and creative writing classes in high school and could never get enough.

2. I love dark chocolate. I have limits but it's nice knowing that it is at least heart healthy.

3. I love to motivate and encourage others. It's my life calling from God which is why I write not only my blog but diligently follow and comment the blogs I follow daily if I can.

4. I love to read. I can get through most books in a few hours even if they are over 600 plus pages. I can't get enough.

5. I love cake decorating. My kids and I made a great Easter cake this year after discovering the joys of fondant.

6. I love decorating my house. It's never-ending. I am a organizing queen and hate clutter. Need I say more.

7. I love animals as you can tell from my previous posts on the Moo!

SO please take this opportunity and if you feel so inclined pick up the award at the top and pass it along to someone who needs a lift today. Trust me, it will make a difference in someones life. I can't just pass it along to 7, as I am following a whole lot more than that, so for all of the blogs I am following, you are not only tagged, but you are also awarded this award!

Dear Kat,

Thank you for your sweetness, friendship and prayer support with regard to my husband's health issues right now. That means more to me than you can possibly ever know.

I thank God for the people that He has brought into my life via the blogosphere and you are one of them.

I need to really delve into your blog and get reading some of the posts that I have missed. I'm excited for you with regard to the book you are working on.

May God abundantly bless you in all areas of your life. May His covering be all over your book.

Love, Peace & Blessings,
Alleluiabelle

Congratulations sister Kat! Maybe someday, we can take piano lessons? :) Before my fingers get stiff!

May God continue to guide you and lead you to that door towards having your book published! May He bring you to the right people!

Long ago, my hubby and I were also thinking of moving to Pacific Northwest. I love that market place in Seattle when I saw that from tv. I would love to buy that "flying fish".

In everything that you do, may God grant your heart's desires. Love and blessings and thank you for your awesome friendship. God bless.

I loved your catching up post! I have several awards that are hanging around in my draft and picture folders waiting for me to be gratiful and post them. Not that I'm not gratiful but just haven't gotten them posted.

Girl, I'm right there with you not wanting to exercise or do anything but get the great results. If you find that wonder pill...please buy me some too.

I really need someone to help me be accountable. I'll join you. Email me...I don't have your email address or I would have posted this there instead of here. :-)

(((hugs)))

That was a lot of info! I feel like I know you so much better now.
I know that took a lot of time but it was interesting to read and we have a few things in common.

One burning question though...what color did you paint the bedroom ? :)

Congratulations on the awards! You deserve them. And, I read all 3 of the blogs you named and they are all good ones.

I had some catching up to do on the blog recently, too. Takes take long to get behind. And the pictures you posted were great. wb

Two Finches: I continued our mint green color into the bathroom. It wraps around without a door and the color is simply soothing and reminds me of a spa.

Thanks Jennifer for the color recommendation. Hubby says it's one of the few colors he really truly enjoys!

Love and Hugs ~ Kat
