Hanging In There!

Wow it seems like its been so long since I have found the time to blog and complete a post, and then spend time commenting and reading everyone's blogs. So I thought I would take a moment and let you know what is up.

Last week Thursday was Kailee, our youngest daughter's birthday and she turned 11! Hard to imagine just how quickly they all grow up but they do. We woke her up that morning by spraying her with silly string. What a morning to remember after that was all cleaned up. We spent the morning at a local Farmer's Market since she has always wanted to go but had school. So we took the day off from work and school and visited the Farmer's Market. The kids had blast with negotiating some great deals on make-up and hair accessories as well as some jewelry! Most were only $1.00 each. WOW now that is what I call saving money.

After that Kailee wanted lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and a walk around the outdoor mall at Victoria Gardens. Lunch was great, she had pizza with all her favorite toppings, bacon, sausage and pepperoni of course, topped off with a slice of strawberry cheesecake.

We had so much fun walking around the outdoor mall stuffing money into peoples expired parking meters and the smiles that the girls shared doing an act of random kindness or ARKing as we call it made their day.

We stopped at the Apple store where we looked at the newest Ipod's for Kailee's birthday present and since they have gotten so much thinner and smaller, we felt for the money that the Ipod Touch offered her the best of two worlds. A replacement for her Nintendo DS which broke and her outdated shuffle. The Ipod Touch does both, games, music and wireless internet. How can you go wrong for a $50.00 difference in price.

So after we left the mall, we headed back home for some cake and ice cream I had in the freezer just for her. She celebrated her birthday party on Saturday with her friends and had about 4 of them over for a sleep over and party.

To update you all on my medical progress, I have officially fired OB GYN number 2. After running out of pain meds while awaiting an ultra sound test scheduled for last Friday, she refused to refill my prescription until all the test results were in. Did you catch that? This doctor knows that I have been on pain meds for "PAIN" and refuses to fill my prescription until we complete all the tests which will go another three weeks, while I remain in pain. Her solution, "if it is really that bad, perhaps you should seek the Emergency Room visit?"

Huh? I have been to the ER where I have been discharged with pain meds to seek an OB GYN's care, why would I go back? Doesn't that seem redundant? Does she receive a kickback from the ER if she refers so many patients to them?

So needless to say both Steve and I fired her that night she called me. I phoned my sister and got the number of her OB GYN that is 2 hours from us since we only have about 5 here in the High Desert and I've exhausted 2 already. Not such great odds. I have an appointment with this doctor on Wednesday, February 10th, and we are praying for God's divine intervention and healing with this, our third choice and hopefully last doctor.

I have gotten my pain meds refilled by my primary doctor who was informed on what took place and was quite literally flowed by what I am going through just to find out answers. You know, a woman knows when something just isn't right in her body.

Today has been a difficult day with the pain but if this is my new life according to God's will, then I am fine with accepting that. Just waiting for that confirmation. Please keep me in prayer next week. I will share some pictures with all of you tomorrow from the party as well as Caitlyn's Winter Formal and Mascaraed Party.

Kat, you'll be in my prayers between now and the 10th. So thankful you can see your sister's doctor.

My dear blogging friend. God did not create you to live in pain. He will deliver you. I know this.
Keep seeking answers. You are touching many with your story. Don't give up. Still praying and believing with you for a solution.

After living in Victorville for 21 years, I visualized the Farmer's Market. I used to love to go there. The smell of the bbq cooking...yum (although I never tried it).

I am glad that the birthday girl had a wonderful celebration. I would've chosen what she chose...time with the family, ARKing and pizza and cheesecake plus an ipod touch....can't go wrong with that!!

So sorry that you are having to deal with incompetent ob/gyns. There are some excellent ones here in Rancho Mirage but it is an hour and a half away. Let me know and I can refer you.

Feel better soon, my friend!

I am so sorry about that doctor and your pain. Glad your regular doctor filled your meds.

Hey, I love Victoria Gardens. I drive by there every Tuesday to go to bowling. I meet my daughter at Cheesecake Factory all the time.
I love the shops. So glad you had a wonderful time. Someday we will have to have lunch. I remember when I first meet you I was in Mammonth Lakes last summer checking in on my blogs. I feel like I have know you so much longer than that.

It is an awful thing when doctors think of patient's complaints of pain being light. Especially when they don't see what causes it.

That was how I got treated when I injured my neck. Some of them looked at me like I was lying and just wanted to milk work comp. I was in agony.

But the Lord knew. And He did save me. That's my prayer for you today. Despite the frustrations, doubts, pain, the Lord will surely turn them around into good and in His perfect time, something big would be revealed to you. For His glory! Hang in there sister Kat. Keeping you in prayers. God bless.

Happy Birthday to Kailee!!!

Kat,

Kailee's 11th birthday sounds like it was just wonderful! Happy birthday to her. I love the idea of the silly string to wake up the birthday girl. What fun! She must have been beside herself to have been able to go to the farmer's market on a school day, then to the mall, and the Cheesecake Factory. I think I want all of those things for my next birthday. :-)

I hope and pray you find your answers at doctor number three.

Hugs and Blessings,
Carol

Thank you for an update on your welfare. Even though it is not too good. I am glad you are changing one of your doctor's at least. Pray the next one will have a solution to your problem. This has gone on much too long with all the medical technology there is today. I am glad you felt like making your daughter happy with a great birthday celebration and letting her do her own thing. Take care.

Sounds like a wonderful time with your daughter that you guys will cherish for a long time.

About the medical stuff ... I'm sorry. We are going through something with our 17 year old daughter now - MVP - Mitral Valve Prolapse. Slow process finding out for sure. In your guys, it is a very slow and long, drawn out process, with a couple of difficult hurdles along the way (like this doctor). Praying you find some satisfaction in all this soon.

I am so sorry for what you are enduring Kat. Will keep praying for you.

Glad you're getting out and about. Happy Birthday to Kailee!

Well I'm glad Kailee had a good birthday and you managed the day- God's Grace being sufficient, huh???!
And I'm glad you wrote where you're at healthwise because I want to know. But I am REALLY sorry about the ob gyn- that's just not on...how can she `tell you to manage your pain when she's supposed to be finding out the cause? That's just back to front- its like something from a Dr Seuss book which makes no sense, except this isn't funny.

That is so ridiculous! I would have fired that doctor too. Dang it, that makes me mad!

I agree with Parsley, this pain is not God's will for you. I will continue to pray that you will find the answer, and soon!
