Angels ~ Book Review

Angels –
By Dr. David Jeremiah

Who they are and how they help? What the Bible reveals about angels? People have long been fascinated by stories of angel sightings, yet many contemporary beliefs about angels are based on misconception and myth rather than solid, biblical truth.

Dr. David Jeremiah uses scripture to unveil the remarkable truth about these agents of heaven and their role in our world and our lives. He clearly separates fact from fiction as it relates to angels. What are angels? What is their role in God’s plan? Are they present? Do they appear? Do they give us personal insight about our work and our worship?

Besides all the scripture references throughout this book, we are also provided with some real life stories of angel encounters from Billy Graham, Corrie ten Boom, C.S. Lewis and many other notable people.

This book really focuses on God’s divine purpose for these created beings and how important they are to His will and purpose in our lives. We learn about their roles throughout Bible history, their purpose, their descriptions, and often their names. We also learn about whether or not there are guardian angels and how did Satan wind up from an Angel of Light into the Deceiver of Lies he is now.

The most wonderful thing I enjoyed about this book is the reference to God. Dr. Jeremiah does such a fine job of making sure the reader does not finish this book with wanting to begin to worship angels. You are left with a clear indication of what the world would want you to believe and what God’s intentions are through angels and their purpose.

My most favorite part of the book is reading about the angels that God sends to carry us home to heaven when we die. We are so important that God wants to make sure we arrive in the best and quickest way possible! Can it get any more wonderful than that?

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is curious about the purpose of angels and how God uses them to help believers! That is right, they are here for us! Want to know why? Then you will definitely want to pick this book up and read even more!

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book by WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group. If you are interesting in purchasing a copy of this wonderful book, I have provided a link below.

Thanks for the review. These are valuable to me, in my line of work-salesperson at a Christian bookstore. We carry some of Dr. Jeremiah's books, I'll have to see if we have this one.

Sounds like a great book and even better because it was based on biblical teaching. Sad when a lot of people worship angels. Take care. God bless.

"Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out for service on account of those who shall inherit salvation?" Heb 1: 14. Think of such great creature ministering to us!

But, what is the Scripture about them bearing us to heaven?

Have not heard of the book but glad that he takes a Biblical perspective. You have to compare everything to what God's word says, as it is the absolute truth.

Love what you said about the bunny not being able to cry for help with his ears gone. You have no idea how funny that is, lol!

How're you feeling today?

Sounds like a great book Kat. So many people focus so much on angels that they lose sight of the One the angels are working for.

Have you ever wondered how insulted angels are over the way we portray them?
