A Day of Prayer

Oh Lord, knows we all need prayer. Sometimes it is for sickness, a job opportunity, salvation, a prodigal child to return, but sometimes it goes beyond our own needs or those of others. Today is a day of prayer for the state of California and the United States.

I woke up this morning after a troubling night of visions and nightmares of what is to come in the future of not only this country I believe but in the world. Where the persecution of the Christians is rising like never before. May God help future generations if this continues on the same exponential path that it is. Sadly, many people will go about their day today, and not care at all about what is happening in the world. We are becoming an apathetic nation.

My husband and I were both looking at future events and what is currently spiraling out of control while so many were watching the riots happening in Baltimore. Now don't get me wrong, I think that anytime someone is killed while in police custody, that is wrong. But to go to the extremes that people did last night was completely wrong. Do you think it helped bring attention to the situation or caused people to shake their heads in disgust for a mayor who could condone such action, even if she limited where it could take place. As any parent who has raised a child, knows when your child is angry and throwing a tantrum, we don't give them the okay to do it as long as they stay in the boundary we set them in. No, we tell them their actions for dealing with things are wrong. We need to grow up people! We need religious leaders to stop encouraging people to do this as a way of drawing attention to the cause.

We need to look at the bigger picture to what is going wrong in the United States. We have made small concessions over time to the moral standards of this country. What is wrong is now being looked at by different eyes and people are considering it might not really be 100% wrong after all. And those things that were 100% right are now being looked at as possibly being a bit wrong. Oh how we have fallen in our moral ways.

We have made compromises that have brought us to where we stand now. That the will of the voters is now being cast aside as if we are a bunch of fools, and the government and courts need to exercise their judicial reasoning over us because we don't know any better.

How today, the Supreme Court will decide for every single person living in the United States what the true definition of marriage is based on the judges sitting in the court. Not by the will of voters, but by the judges. The consequences of those decisions will affect us all in negative or positive light. For believers if the definition of marriage is defined as one man, one woman, then we feel victorious. But what about those who are stuck dealing with what the courts have deemed have been right, even though morally and Biblically in our minds it is wrong. How you cope when someone has told you that what you thought was right is no longer right, but wrong. Do you get what I am saying?

These courts have taken it upon themselves to go against the majority of voters and define the moral laws for everyone regardless of what they believe. Like a friend told me on Facebook this morning, no one should have to be forced to do anything they don't believe in. I would agree in that regard that the courts regardless of their choices today, will make things difficult to the point that the riots in Baltimore will seem like child's play. Is there any winner in what happens today?

If the courts define marriage as between a man and a woman only, will they homosexual groups simply give up? Will they accept what the courts have to offer? For that matter, if the same sex marriages are approved as the new definition of marriage, will believers be content? Will they give up?

There has to be an absolute truth, a version of what is 100% morally and ethically defined laws of what is right and wrong. Why does society as it grows, feel the need to change the law to redefine anything? Marriage by the laws of science, is required to maintain species population. It doesn't take someone with a degree to figure that out. If you have two women or two men left on the earth, the species of humans would end. It is that simple. The laws of the universe, science and physics make that 100% true. So why then are we trying to redefine absolute truth.

Oh trust me, I've heard all the arguments that the homosexuals simply want the benefits and rights of what married couples have. Fine, give them the rights, but lets not define that as marriage. Define it as something else. Don't force those of us that believe in the laws governing this world, to cave simply because others want it that way. When will it end if the laws are reversed? Will the new law reflect than any two adults can be married regardless of gender? Will that apply to a father and daughter, people of any relation can be married? What about a sexual predator and his victim?

Where will we as a nation draw an absolute line in the sand and say enough is enough? That the standards we have set are right and will never be called into question again? When will it end?

I pray today that believers everywhere will fall to their knees in prayer. For a healing that this nation so desperately needs. That the traditions, our moral laws, and beliefs are being called into question and are in the hands of people that will ultimately change more today than they think. They will be called into account one day to answer for the choices that they make before God and I hope it is the one thing burning in their hearts and minds today.

Please join me in praying for the Supreme Court to uphold the definition of marriage as being defined between a man and a woman only!

Please join me in praying that the state of California will not force churches in funding abortion in our state as part of basic health care required for women. This is NOT a basic health care right for women. This is selective and elective choices to terminate the life of an unborn child which is nothing more than murder, to a baby that doesn't have a voice to make the decision for itself.

If we as a nation, begin to compromise on these issues, then all I can say is Lord Jesus, please come quickly because it will introduce more opportunities in the very near future to change ALL our existing laws to benefit a small minority of people instead of the majority who believe things need to change. This is NOT the kind of change our country needs.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)~ "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

When Did Christians Become Terrorists?

It seems that is the popular opinion when you ask most people around the world. Never in history, has there been such a hatred towards the label, "Christian." While many of us wear it with pride, there are those that run from it as if you had labeled them "Anti-American" or even "Radical Terrorists."

You've seen it every single time, Christians stand up for anything that contradicts what the world wants, from taking a stand on traditional marriage being between a man and woman ONLY, to defending the rights of unborn children from being aborted and companies paying for it and supporting a woman's right to do as she wishes with her body.

Oh how my heart grieves even now seeing how far we have fallen as a once great nation. One who stood for the principles of truth founded in the Bible to support our formation of the Mayflower Compact, and then subsequently our Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution. Where are the strong men and women of integrity that will put a stop to the crazy roller coaster ride America is riding?

Let me share these godly principles that founded this great nation but the first people who came here looking for freedom from oppression from the King James of England who wanted to censor their religious beliefs and were facing persecution. (Sound familiar?) They were not all from the same religious denominations but they all had the same core beliefs in the one true God much like the Catholics, Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans and Christians do now. This is an exact, line-by-line transcription of the Mayflower Compact. Spelling and punctuation have not been modernized.

What do you notice? What stands out about this document? Because our current president would have you believe that this great nation was not founded on any "Christian" principles. Ah, I beg to differ Mr. President. Perhaps you need to do some fact checking. The original colonists that came on the Mayflower, were ones who stood up for the Christian faith, notice the bold word christian? I didn't put it there, the Pilgrims who came here wrote that as their first document and they knew how to apply Biblical truth to civil affairs as seen in the Mayflower Compact, which was the first expression of civil government that recognized the Christian idea of man and government.

Apparently our current President needs to take a refresher course on American history that has not be rewritten or changed to what the current world view would have us believe is true history. Oh wait unless the Pilgrims didn't really come here to America or the Mayflower Compact is fake? Are you seeing my point. It's irrefutable. Here is the image of the original document.

Don't you remember being taught all about this in school when God was still part of the program? Do any of you remember morning prayer being followed by our Pledge of Allegiance? Then one summer we came back only to find it not allowed any more?

Since when did standing up for the truth make anyone a terrorist? Oh there will be those who argue that Christians killed more people in the Crusades than anyone else. Really? Want to argue facts on that? You might just want to do some fact checking before you go there. Can you tell me what the purpose of the Crusades were? The real history not the watered down version our children are being spoon-fed now in school.

The "Holy Roman Empire," founded by Otto I, King of Germany in 962 A.D., launches a series of 8 crusades to "liberate" the Holy Land from the Muslims (1095-1272). Did you see it, only 8 crusades happened during those time frames and I'm sure you're telling yourself, well the "Christians" killed a lot of Muslims during that time frame. 8 wars killed between 1 to 3 million people.

Wow, you must be thinking that is really horrible. All those innocent lives taken for the sake of God. Now let's reverse the tables and see how many lives the Muslims have claimed since Muhammad came to power in 610AD.  Since the birth of Christ, there have been approximately 43 million Christians have died just for their faith, and the count is still rising. Still think the numbers lie? Oh and for the record the nation of Israel has been in existence in borders much larger than they are today as promised by God, Himself in approximately 1406BC, so honestly whose land is it really? There are those that would argue Israel was never a nation. You might want to read Exodus to find out for sure! The borders Israel has now, from the 1967 six day war, are not the ones God wanted them to have. One day God will right this wrong.

We have one group of people, Muslims, trying to rid the world of people that they believe don't have a right to exist, Jews and Christians as is stated in their own book, The Quran 9:5 "And when the forbidden months have passed, kill the idolaters wherever you find them and take them prisoners, and beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush." and you have Christians standing up for the absolute truth of the Bible Jesus shared, which states in Matthew 5:44, " to love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you", and that in John 3:17, "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

Tell me which group is the real terrorists? The ones that preach the truth of a God of Love or the ones that believe in a Holy War that necessitates the cleansing of an entire race of people simply because they are God's chosen ones?

Craving Salt?

I don't know about you but there are certainly times when I crave salt. From buttered popcorn in a movie theater, to adding a little extra to my pizza, I love salt. I love soft pretzels with salt and mustard, and it's a must on a turkey sandwich with mayo using Thanksgiving leftovers! Just thinking about it makes my mother water.

But have you really thought about why God uses the analogy of believers being the "salt" of the earth?

What would happen if all the Christian believers were to simply vanish?

Besides there being a mass, chaotic unrest in the world, after a while, people might begin to enjoy the fact that those so-called ignorant religious people with their version of right and wrong are gone and the world can now do what it wants without any consideration or thought to someone telling them it's wrong.

That is precisely the reason for Christians to become salty! We add flavor! We are meant to enhance the way things are in this world, making it better by showing people how wonderful life can be when you are walking in the truth of what the Bible has to say.

Oh I can just imagine some people cringe when they hear us read what the Bible has to say. There is conviction when light is shined on the dark, when our sins are revealed. We don't like that and want to flee into some place of safety, some place to hide.

We don't want to give up what we are doing and we feel justified and attempt to rationalize it anyone who will listen.

Don't believe me?

Why is it the very people who are in support of  abortion are against capital punishment?

They believe in the killing of innocent, unborn babies, but feel justified in not killing another person who deserves punishment? Why is it that those that support abortion don't realize that if their parents decided on abortion, they won't be among the living.

The Bible is very clear on a few truths people want to run from!

1. God created marriage. Not man/man or woman/woman but man and woman! He even defines it further after the creation of Adam and Eve with the 5th commandment, Honor your father and mother. Not father/father or mother/mother but parents, a father and a mother.

Genesis 2:21-24, "And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He took one of his ribs or a part of his side and closed up the flesh. And the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man He built up and made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. Then Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man. Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."

Exodus 20:12 - " Regard (treat with honor, due obedience, and courtesy) your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land of the Lord your God gives you.

2. God created family which is why there is such an all out assault against what God has defined and formed. People now want you to accept that anything goes when it comes to family. But the Bible is clear on what God deems is a family.

3. Abortion is a sin and is murder of the unborn baby. Life doesn't begin at birth, it begins at conception.

Psalm 139: 13 ~ "For you did form my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right as well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret intricately and curiously wrought in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days were written before every they took shape, when as yet there was none. "

Jeremiah 1: 5 ~"Before I formed you in the womb I knew and approved of you, and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you;"

You might not like God's laws, but they are true because He said so. Anything different from that is sin, simply stated.

You will hear people saying that they are born that way, that they can't change, well I would argue against that simply saying that just because we feel a certain way, doesn't mean we should act on those things that are clearly defined by God as wrong. I simply say we are all born sinners, but we are commanded by God to resist committing sin, whether that is homosexual urges, lust for anything outside of marriage, murder, lying, stealing, you name it. Just because we have the urge doesn't mean we are born that way.

We need to resist those temptations, even those that are stronger than others, but it doesn't mean we need to fall into that pattern of doing it. Everyone struggles in certain areas of sin but it is what we decide to do with those temptations that define whether we are following God's law or our own definition.

Would love to hear your thoughts!

For now, we need to remember that once salt loses it's saltiness, we are no longer effective. We must walk in the path's God has laid before us. We need to spread out, because like salt, it works better when it is sprinkled out not poured!

Hey, you down there!

"One newspaper columnist wrote about how God would like to take a turn to talk to us who live on earth. They wrote God started out with a greeting to those living on the earth and asked how things were going. It might look something like this:

Hello to all my sons and daughters living on earth,

Just thought I'd take a moment to ask you just how things are going there currently on earth since you have declared Me extinct and have taken charge of things. Is there peace and order in the new world you have created? Is it the perfect world you have envisioned? From where I am sitting I can see how children are often abused and neglected. I notice the millions of people that are addicted to drugs that are destroying your minds and lives. Your new morality has become slavery to immorality and you now live in fear and don't trust one another.

I see how children are no longer safe in their backyards or homes or even babies in their mother's womb. I have seen more murdering and suicides and what are called accidents are not accidents at all causing terrible suffering. Most of you are chasing after wealth and power or pleasures not thinking of me or helping others. You thought your Science and Technology could replace me. Natural disasters leave you helpless because you can't hold back the mighty waves of the seas or stop the earth from shaking. Can you control fire, wind and the sea?

Did you put the oil in the earth you use or the fish in the seas? Can you produce your own air, water, or soil or bring back the stars if they fall? Can you save yourself from flinging into space if the gravity should fail?

You could live by my commandments to find inward peace and happiness, but you have rejected them, or you have changed them to suit yourselves. Some of you have tried to explain your problems arrogantly with your vast scientific knowledge. Others just blame such things on Climate Change or Political Incorrectness.

My ways are higher and different from your ways as the heavens are above the earth. Just remember this: My mercy and longsuffering are forever, but my justice is final.

Love God. "(Helen Colby, "Hey, you down there, can we talk?," Fort Madison, Daily Democrat, no. September13(2011)

Interesting conversation considering that we are still murdering millions of innocent babies while others praise the results of a woman's right to choice for her own body even if it means taking the life of an unborn baby. God's mercy and long suffering are forever, but His justice is final. Time is running out and God's justice will be swift upon those who take the innocent life and continue to stand behind the policies that support this decision.

May we continue to lift our country up in prayer and pray for swift change to come upon the earth like never before. May we turn back to the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. May we pray for hearts and minds to turn back to God and may we realize it before it's too late!

Red Envelope Campaign

I don't know how many of you feel but I honestly believe that our current government, is making decisions regarding funding for abortions and stem cell research and is asking tax payers to pay for it.

I have been researching stem cell research and nothing has been proven that anything science has done to this date has any reasonable data shows that stem cell has cured anything. Nothing. Yet science keeps pushing the current administration to allow further testing of stem cells of adults and really wants the stem cells of embryos to cure things like Parkinson's, diabetes, cancers, and a list of other things. Nothing has provided any solid findings to show that any further research will provide the answers people are desperately seeking for.

I applaud former President George W Bush's policy to ban stem cell research. You don't need to sacrifice a life to save a life. This is where I believe that science has overstepped it's boundaries and the current President doesn't care.

I am asking those of you that believe that abortion is wrong to join with me in the Red Envelope campaign scheduled for March 31, 2009. It asks that everyone address a red envelope to President Barack Obama for every baby that has been aborted. You are to leave the contents empty as it symbolizes a life that has been wasted and the fact that Obama believes that we should pay for these services. Never has the need for our voices to be heard than now. As professing Christians, I believe it's our right to stand up for the voices that can't be heard and to show people that Christians have beliefs we are willing to stand up for.

Please click on the link above for more information including what to write on the envelope, where to mail it, as well as where you can purchase red envelopes to mail out. It's a non violent response to something I am passionate about. Won't you join me to send a voice out for the ones that can't speak for themselves? I believe life begins at conception!
