Is America Losing Her Backbone?

In light of everything happening in the world today, it's hard to believe what American looked like 25 years ago. There has been such a rush to push political agenda's through despite the will of the people and what we vote on, there is resentment towards traditional family values and spiritual beliefs, and people nowadays seem to want to legalize what is defined as wrong according to the Bible. Perhaps if they can get the courts to legalize things, then people will refuse to accept responsibility that their actions are wrong, when the courts have defined it is now okay and accepted.

So where does this leave us?

The Bible is very clear where things would be headed in the last days in Matthew 24 beginning in verse 4-14.

"Jesus answered: Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."

The Bible is pretty accurate in what is happening right now all over the world, but none more important that the effect happening here in America. You may have seen the headlines, church leaders now turning away from the Bible and creating a church where everyone is accepted; America is negotiating with Iran for nuclear power for their country; America is pulling back on their support to Israel for the first time in 50 years at the United Nations; that the government is vying for more control over the rights of people, while the citizens do very little to resist; that more laws are being created to stop the rise to violence in our own cities; that we don't support the release of our own citizens being held in third world countries; that persecution is rising and we for once are not doing anything about it; that terrorist groups are operating within our own borders and we simply sit back and do nothing; the same sex marriage is being challenged in every single state for validity and now is sitting in the Supreme Court; that illegals are being given amnesty without going through the legal channels to obtain it; that health care is being mandated and forced upon us, even if we can't afford it; the you don't have to show proof of citizenship to vote but do to fill out your taxes?

Has America lost it's backbone or is this merely a sign of the last days. I believe it is more than that.

Genesis 12:3 (NIV) ~ "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

I believe America was just the nation that God blessed for standing strong with Israel. Only that hand of blessing from God is being slowly removed, thanks in part to our continued turning away from what God clearly instructed against obedience and disobedience to Him. From our recent terrorism on our own soil, to the economic struggles we continue to face, national disasters happening with stronger and more frequency in many states, and while we stand by and let the leaders of this once great nation, shake their fists at God and tell Him, He is no longer wanted here, even by our own President.

It is no wonder why ISIS continues unabated, because they have been watching the response of the United States and there hasn't been any repercussions to what has been going on, from getting involved in prohibiting the Iran nuclear deals, ISIS is the result of that. They know that America will not do anything, so they continue to do just what they have been doing.

Our current President is lacking in every aspect yet he remains in office. Our President is no longer the leader of the free world anymore. He doesn't want to be. Even now nations are coming to that awareness that America is weak militarily, we have cut back our defense spending, closed down military basis and reduced our presence in the world today. Russia smells blood along with Iran and they are moving in military drills as far north as they can in response to how to handle a nuclear attack. They are now on the highest alert ever for a nuclear threat.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the gulf nations are the only ones working to eliminate the ISIS threat in the Middle East and have said, America will do nothing so we have to. Iran will be attacked by Saudi Arabia, they already have nuclear weapons no one knows about. When Iran is attacked, they will blame Israel so they can launch a nuclear attack against them, which has been their goal all along.

America will not attack Iran because we lack the leadership and military to do so. If we do, will we go alone, we will not have the support of anyone in the world when we do and it will not be blessed by God for our lacking of support to Israel and we will not prevail.

ISIS is simply giving us a glimpse of what is to come in the future during the tribulation in relation to Revelation 15, the beheading of those that don't accept the mark of the beast.

We shouldn't fear Bible Prophecy, but instead see it as helping us to prepare for the last days and the deception that will come along with it.

Matthew 10:16 (NIV) ~ "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."

The entire chapter of Deuteronomy 28 showcases exactly what a nation can expect when it follows God's Laws and what happens to a nation that doesn't It is pretty clear that America is paying that price for disobedience right now. But it's not too late to turn back.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) ~ "If my people, who are called by my name, will  humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

May we all spend time tomorrow praying for just that during the National Day of Prayer. Let us pray that our leaders will also turn and their eyes be opened to the disobedience to the God that this once great nation was founded on. Let us all repent from our ways and turn back to God in the greatest revival to ever come to America. Let us truly be one nation under God, and let us not forget God!
