Thankful Thursday

I can't wait for Thursday and to take part in Sonya's Thankful Thursday. There is still plenty of time to join so stop by her blog Truth for the Journey. You just never know who you will meet and just how blessed you will be!

Here are the 5 things I am thankful for this week:

1. That God remains faithful everyday. I can always count on Him. People will always fall short on their promises, expectations and intentions, but not God. He will always, always be there for you.

2. My hubby is working from home for the most part. He is shifting his schedule somewhat but I know the deep down desire inside of himself, to perform well on his job is digging at him, even though he will never admit it.

3. Cait, my oldest daughter, made it safely to Rhode Island after a very long flight with three stop overs. It took her a grand total of 12 hours to arrive. Poor kid, she really hated to fly this trip. She said it will be her last. She still has to fly home, so I think that will be her official last one. Thanks for all who prayed for her.

4. School is almost over. I can see the finish line and my obligations to the kids will be over until August. The great thing is that I get to see the results of all their hard work. My daughters friend Samm stopped by yesterday to tell me that the help I gave her on her History class paid off, and she aced her final with an A and a 100%. Now tell me if that doesn't make you proud. Kids need help!

5. Rain came yesterday in the form of some very powerful thunderstorms, that quite literally, shook our entire house, set off car alarms and made most of the kids, really scared. Poor cats, we didn't see them for most of the day. I loved watching all the hail and rain fall because we haven't seen any rain for months. Living in the desert, we used to get thunderstorms late in the afternoon, but not for some years, until yesterday. What a nice surprise! Thanks God!

Great post. It is always so nice to count our blessings! I remember driving through Victorville on the way to vegas and seeing a hill that had just been struck by lightning - it started to burn.. Night before last we had major thunder and lightening too - woke me up.. Not real common here near the beach..
Your new friend and follower.
Love,
Kelly

I adore Thankful Thursdays!! We are blessed indeed :) and oh my, I woke up from the same thunderstorm. It was terrifying and beautiful at the same time, I've never seen nonstop flashing like that before. Wow.. God is powerful!

It felt like God was taking a picture with all those flashes from the lightning. Wow! What a display of power! But that doesn't even compare with His.
Great things to be thankful for! And that's what we must all have - a thankful heart always. God bless and have a great Thursday! To God be the glory!

Kat,
I love reading about what others are Thankful for. It reminds me of some many things that I seem to forget on a daily basis. I just came from another blog I read and she was post for Thankful Thursday too. It was so good. Her title was actually I am thankful Even If....
Thanks for blogging. I love to come here.

Glad you're almost done with school! You home school your kids, right? I may be tapping you for some advice because I MIGHT attempt to home school my older son next school year (9th grade). He's just having some issues, and he may be better off spending at least one year at home.

That's a great list, Kat. And there's nothing quite like a good thunderstorm.

Funny, my word verification is "tobless." That's what you do for me every time I come here.

Gratitude is the foundation of a healthy and happy life. I always enjoy reading people's gratitude list. Yours is a good one!

I don't know if you got my message by email (as a response to one of your comments), but yesterday I tried to access your blog 6 times and each time I got that message about illegal operation or something and it shut down each time. Tonight I was able to access each time.

You have a good blog.

We had rain and thunder this week as well, and I too enjoyed the blessings after not having rain for some time.

Love to you,
Yolanda

I feel so uplifted when I read "grace notes" and "thank you posts" like this one. The thank yous are so personal... I'm rejoicing with you over these.

I'm praying your hubby will really do well in his job, and that Cait will make it home safely again soon. I was in New York a few years ago and would have loved to visit Rhode Island. I have heard how beautiful the New Englad states are.

Rain? If you want it, you should come to the Philippines. Sometimes we have it for days and days non stop. It's been raining nearly non stop for five days now.

Thanks for visiting my site and leaving such warm encouraging words. Though we've only "met" I feel a kinship with you...

Blessings on your soon to come summer break.
