Hating My PC!

Ever wonder when they are going to make a computer that doesn't require a million updates each time you put it to bed at the end of each night? You know the screen you get. It says, "Shut down and install updates?"

Like we can say NO, please don't because, if you do, things won't work right the next time I log in.

I will get error messages.

I will get slower start ups.

I will get things that I didn't have before I installed your updates.

Lately, I have been getting a lot of comments about being denied access to my blog posts on certain days or at different times of the day. I even get it after I complete my post and attempt to view my blog just to see what it looks like to all of you when you log in.

I get something about an illegal operation and then it won't let you in. I have found that if I simply refresh the screen, the message goes away.

Has anyone else experienced this and perhaps can diagnose my computers issue, since I already know it has a problem.

It's a computer, that is the first problem.

I find it funny that commercials now compare MACs to PCs. Don't all computers regardless of the program, eventually experience the same issues. We rely on them WAAAAYYYY too much!

We upload countless pictures in hopes, that cross your fingers, they will magically be there the next morning. I had a friend of mine loss all her files on her brand new MAC, even after she backed everything up! She called me, in tears, because there was no way to recover years of photos she has lost. Even family videos she had been in the process of converting to DVD, were gone.

This is another casualty of trusting our computers to always turn on each and every morning. To keep our documents safe, to hold our emails secure, and to get us where we need to in our virtual world.

My best recommendation is to print out the pictures you want, or back them up to a CD or DVD, print out emails and documents you need to have, and don't rely on our computers to act like a storage facility for our personal and business stuff. We have come to depend on them so much that when things go wrong, we sit there at a loss without anything to say, and stare at the computer.

We stare and cry! Cry because we believed in the computer. So please hang in there with me as I work through whatever issue may be going on, and if you have any suggestions, please send them my way. I believe it's a failure to communicate between the blogspot site and Internet Explorer.

Gotta love it! Until that time, come on computer, please work, please!

Kat,
I just got off the phone with my computer guy. First, if you use facebook there is a BAD virus and it comes in the form of an inbox email appearing to be from a friend. He advised to no longer use inbox and have people email my actual email account. He said if in doubt DELETE!!
Second, the problem with aborting pages. He told me if it is intermittent and it has been for me that there are an overload of people using the account at the time.
I, too am frustrated. I really didnt get the answers I wanted. My husband ran a virus scan on my pc earlier just to be sure and I dont have one.
I suppose we are on this journey together...and I just keep trying until it lets me in to your page.
Blessings, love, and prayers, andrea

There was a recent update from Internet Explorer that might have caused this. If you don't have Mozilla Firefox, I used that and never had a problem of visiting sites ever since. It was frustrating at that time because even with my own blog, I couldn't get in.
Like that pic you posted. LOL. I wonder how many of us felt that way? Love and blessings to you sister.

Stupid computers!! Can't live with them! Can't live without them! HAHA Sometimes I feel like that guy in your cartoon! But they are also so wonderful because we would never get to know each other without them. :)

Ladies,

First of all my heartfelt thanks. I do believe it's from a system update the internet explorer and Microsoft did not so long ago. If I backdate my computer to an earlier date, I don't have the issue any longer until it updates again.

Thus the need for hating life with PC's and computers in general.

I don't use Facebook or Myspace because both were causing serious issues when my daughter, Cait was using my computer to access them.

I can say my computer appears healthy for now, and I stay away from any wierd email accounts and sites that require me to download anything.

Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for all your wonderful advice.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat
