It's been quite a while since I've had to deal with Steve's absence. Looking back I believe it was shortly before I got sick. Isn't it odd how God just sends the right things your way when you need them the most.
God took care of me. He gave me Steve. He has not had to travel from November of last year til today. Most of that time was spent watching over me and working locally from home until the beginning of June when he was laid off.
God took care of us. He gave me Steve. A man who struggles at times with his faith like we all do. It's hard to put all your cares at His feet and not feel compelled to pick them back up again and try to do something to keep life going. However, this time it was Steve's lesson in faith God was testing.
Once Steve truly let go, and let God, the job came. We are praying and standing in faith that this is the path God has selected for us for now. We prayed before accepting this position and asked if it wasn't meant to be, to please slam the door shut, yet it remained open.
And today he travels. He's headed for North Carolina for a one day trip and will return on Thursday. He will be deeply missed because this year, I've gotten to know my husband in a more intimate way. I am seeing God in him and through the things he does and says at times. I love how God does that.
We get glimpses into the very nature and character of God through everyone we meet and everything that requires our care.
Steve is one of the most caring people you'll ever come to know. He truly does have a heart after God's. I knew it the first time I saw him. God gives second chances. God has blessed me with more riches than this world could ever know and it will be an honor to serve him to the best of my ability because that's what love is about. Not a feeling, its a doing.
While people around us struggle in their marriages and relationships, we grasp ours that much tighter. We know the enemy is seeking to destroy us but we stand united with God and know that our trinity with Him is greater than anything in this world.
Hurry home love, you'll be missed beyond words could ever share and I wait anxiously with God for your safe return. Tap the plane and know that prayers go with you. I love you! ~ Kat

Kat, Praying for Steve, his job and a safe trip. I pray it all goes great and he gets the job he desires and the contract negotiations go in his favor. God Bless You, Steve and your entire family.
I enjoyed seeing all the pics from over the years. I can feel the love you have for him through your words. Beautiful photos of a beautiful family. Much Love, Audrey
I praise God with you for Steve. This was such a beautiful post, and so were the pictures.
Thank you for sharing them with us. They speak of a journey of growing, of becoming, of learning, and maturing.
God is glorified in your life, Kat.
Praying God for Steve, that God will open pathways of blessing and opportunity for him.
Love

Such beautiful words sis, from such a loving heart. I understand where you are coming from, that is how I feel about my lovebug. Praying safety for Steve's trip, and Godly guidance concerning his job. I love you.
I loved reading this post my friend. Just because there ARE hurting marriages all around us and it's so nice to hear you say the beautiful things about your hubby and how you just love him so much. We have two friends that are going through marriage splits and it's so hurtful to watch but it makes my husband and I more aware in our own marriage because we KNOW that Satan wants to split good marriages up.
Have a fabulous day my friend and I pray he comes home safe and sound.
HUGS

I always marvel at the connection God makes between spouses! I also marvel at couples that work together to save a very sacred thing...marriage. Truly beautiful post and I know Steve thanks God for YOU too!
I will be praying everything falls perfectly into place with the job details. My husband has been traveling extensively these past six months and its a different kind of normal for us.
Lovely post!
Great things come to people who wait. He waited and now things will get better. With all the faith in your home, how can it fail. Best wishes to you both.
That was a huge blessing that God gave to you.
Sister Kat, this morning as I was waking up, it was like being whispered to my ears: "Love is actions..." Your post just explained what that meant. God bless you sister Kat and may the Lord's comfort and strength cover you all as bro. Steve travels. I'm glad that he won't be away too long. Take care and be strong in the Lord's mighty power. God is awesome! Through relationships, He does show how much He cares and loves us. It is so precious to have that lasting kind of marriage. But we now know, it's only having Him in the center that makes it work. Glory be to God! Enjoy your day and stay hydrated!!! I miss the cold weather! :(
I pray all goes well with Steve, and his time away is short!
Aww...I know how sad you must feel with him away. It's like a piece of us is missing when our spouse is away. HUGS
You are wise to heavily sandbag your marriage in prayer! Great looking couple you two are.
When my husband is away I always feel like 1/2 a person!
After 20 something years of marriage I feel like my husband and I are two halves that God intended to make the whole that we are.
I'm so glad your husband found work in these hard times.
Thank you Lord!

What a great blessing to have a man in your life that is your friend and confidante and loves caring for you and the family.
I'm praying that he is home safely and with great news!
I haven't been around much so I didn't know that Steve had gotten a job. Congrats! Sweet post and I loved seeing all the pictures.

"Isn't it odd how God just sends the right things your way when you need them the most." Actually - it would be odder if He didn't!
Love this post! I so enjoy couples celebrating their love for each other. Thank you for you incredible example of a Godly couple! I will pray that he comes home soon!! Bless all of you!
I know what you mean about missing your hubby!! Dan is back in China, UGH!! We too grasp our marriage and hang on as tight as we can while marriages are falling apart all around us.
Praying safe travels for Steve and for you and your girls while he is gone!!
Love and Blessings
How precious to hear you speak of your husband in this way. So many times, all we hear is how bad a husband is and what they have done wrong. It was music to our ears to hear all the good things. May God bring him home to you very soon, but thankful that he now has a job, which is so important in this day and age of so much unemployment.
What a beautiful post Kat! I pray the time passes quickly and I am sooo happy you have been blessed with Steve! and how the Lord has brought the two of you so much closer this past year! What a gift!
Love you
A very beautiful tribute to your husband Kat. Excited for his new opportunity.
Kat,
What a beautiful post!!! A Godly husband is truly a gift.
Have a Blessed day,
Dawn
Thank you for such a wonderful post Sweetie and YA!!! I AM BACK! What a long flight back home.... I really liked the lush scenery and all of the trees. However, the humidity was 65% with ave. temps in the high 80's. I don't think I would live on the west coast as it is soooo humid!
Love ya!
