Back to Square 1!

Just when you think your life is slowly changing for the better, you realize that you were headed down the wrong path anyway.

After today's failure of a doctors appointment, my primary care doctor wants me to be referred to both an OB/GYN and GI specialist. She basically acted as though today was our first appointment. I had to remind her of just what has been going on for 2 weeks now. She said she just received my CT scan which was faxed over to her on 12/4 and she is just going over the results of it today with me.

She said well I think you pain is coming from a multi-cystic mass on your left ovary that is 6.5 cm and needs to be removed. So you will need to schedule a doctors appointment with your OB. I explained I just did this last month when I was having this pain and the cyst was 1.8 cm but my OB said it was nothing to be concerned about and I have a history of having them come and go. She really insists this is the answer to my problem.

Then she also explained that I do have an inflamed colon and that should be addressed by a GI even though that probably isn't the cause of the pain.

Nice news huh? So we are back on square one, still taking the antibiotics for good measure, have to turn in a stool sample tomorrow to make sure the C-diff is gone cause they lost my first one I dropped off a week ago, went to the GI specialist today to get schedule for a colonoscopy on January 6th and I have an appointment with the same OB on December 22nd to go over those findings from the CT, since my primary thinks this is it!

So now I get to lie in bed, eating pain medicines to control my pain levels until my doctors can all decide on just what is wrong. My GI suggested it may be just all three combined and suggested I take Tylenol for the pain. Did they fail to understand I am living in my bed as much as I can, can't walk and eat pain medications? Suggestions anyone?

So you can see where I will be at for Christmas but think I need to blog at this time just in case anyone else finds themselves in this same medical boat. Please continue to pray for me and keep me in your prayers. I am confident that God will answer my prayers and heal me soon according as always to His will.

I can't imagine how frustrating this has to be. I do think if it was just C-diff you should be feeling better. I'll keep praying for relief from the pain and an answer to what is going on.

My heart truly goes out to you. It sounds like your immune system is shot. Are you taking any probiotics? They are expensive. But I get mine from the health-food store. When I have an attack from the abdominal ulcers, I eat a cup of yogurt and empty ten capsules of the probiotics into the yogurt and mix it up. I am usually better within a 36 hour period. Not well, but without a lot of pain. The pain is excruciating and doctors just keep telling me to take prilosec. I feel better with the probiotics.

I will be praying for you. May God free you from the pain. It's so hard to live with chronic pain. Especially when you have children. God Bless you. selahV

I used to have MAJOR GI problems. They suggested that I eat way more fiber in my diet. My issues weren't chronic though like yours are. I hope they can all agree soon. I'm sorry :(

I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with not knowing once again. If the cyst is growing, that almost sounds like it could be causing some of the pain but enough already!!

I'm hoping that the doctor understands that you are truly in pain and can't function.

Hang in there, Kat. I'm continuing to pray for you.

My goodness! I'm sure you are ready to strangle a few docs' necks! I'm so sorry you are going through all of this...especially during the holidays.

Trying to get three doctors to communicate with one another is terribly frustrating. I'll be praying for you!

I'm praying for you and will continue to ask God to give you peace in this process, and to heal whatever is causing this. There are so many times when the doctors just can't get it figured out, but our God already has it figured out. So, you hang in there, and just take this 'rest time' as an assignment from Him. Probably would do us all good to pause and rest during these days...

Sister Kat, I just prayed for you. May the Lord bring clarity to what's causing this pain so that you can be treated appropriately in Jesus' Name.

"For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds," says the Lord." (Jeremiah 30:17)

Hi Kat-- . Here's hoping that your doctors can come together with some positive answers and solutions. Because it sure sounds like you have more than one thing going on at the same time.

Feel better,

Charlotte

Praying for you. Could your PCP call your ob/gyn and maybe how to put it nicely. Light a fire under him, rip him a new one. LOL No it's not a laughing matter. I might if the option is there to find different ob/gyn. Not sure if your ob/gyn is male or female but sounds like pcp is female and ob/gyn is male. They just dont have the same compassion because they don't have to go through what we go through. Love ya and pray that you will be able to enjoy Christmas.

Kat, I also know from my own health issues in 2008-2009....keep searching. We know our bodies best, and when things aren't "normal" there has to be a reason, in the mean time of the seeking, rest in Jesus. THE ULTIMATE HEALER!

Lovingly,
Yolanda

PS: I continue to pray for you.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this, Kat!

I would like to share a story, it might help you in some way. Two years ago I started having a problem with diarrhea. It lasted for months. I had every kind of test you can think of (yes, even the dreaded colonoscopy) and no one could find the problem. So I put it in God's hands. I asked Him to show me what the problem was, cause my doctor didn't have a clue.

Then one night I had a dream. I dreamt I was in a grocery store. My neighbor, Lynn, had just put something in a cooler, and because she did that, the cooler had to be emptied out.

Interp: The cooler was my body. The name 'Lynn' means 'water.' So the water I was drinking was causing my system to continually empty itself. I said "God? What do you mean? How can water be doing this?" And then I knew exactly what the problem was - I was drinking flavored water. Turns out, the splenda in the water was making me sick.

Not related to your problem at all, but ask God to show you what the problem is, and then pay attention to your dreams.

I'll be praying for you, my dear sister!

Dear Kat,
I had a sense to visit your blog this morning. It's 3 a.m. over here. So, here I am reading up... and praying for you.

I prayed Hosea 2:14 for you just now. "Therefore behold I will allure her and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfort to her. I will give her her vineyards from there, and the Valley of Achor as a door of hope. She shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, as in the day when se came up from the land of Egypt."

As you are in a kind of wilderness these days, I pray Kat that you will see God's hand in your present circumstances, and cause your heart to rejoice in the midst of it all. I pray that you will hear God's voice as He speaks comfort to you... and the promise that He will you back your vineyards (the place of fruitfulness). The Valley of Achor (literally meaning The Valley of Trouble), will become as a door of hope to you... and I pray that you will really find songs to sing in the place of your present pain... just the way you used to sing when you just experienced the freedom of knowing Jesus as your Redeemer and Deliverer.

Hold on to Jehovah El Roi, the God Who sees, and Jehovah Rophe, the one Who heals.

He is also your Shepherd, the God who prepares a table for you in the wilderness, in the presence of your enemies.

I'm happy that I was able to visit you today. I will continue to pray for you and think of you these days. It will be a different kind of Christmas for you. I pray God will bring you to the place of acceptance and peace...and may you embrace Him as your All in All, the All Sufficient One.

With much love
Lidj

Oh Kat, I'm so sorry you're still suffering through this. Just know that God knows the answers and He will see you through it. Somehow He'll get all the honor and glory for it in the end, too. Hang in there. You've got lots of people praying for you.

I'm so sad that you'll be in bed for Christmas though. *sigh*

My mom and my brother live in near constant pain. My mom's doctor has a tendency to downplay her back pain and sometimes acts like my mom is making it up, even though she's been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis.

I think sometimes people truly have no idea how debilitating pain can be. It can make you tired, agitated, grumpy, nauseous, discouraged, etc.

Oh Kat I am so sorry for what you are enduring. My patience with the whole health care industry these days is as thin as it could possibly get. It wasn't so bad paying them the big bucks when they actually KNEW something, but these days they seem to know less than the patients.

Praying for you now.

Love and blessings!

So sorry you are back to feeling crummy. I had a large cyst years ago and I told my husband I didn't care what they did to me but I absolutely couldn't stand the pain one more minute.

I'll be praying the doctor really listens and tunes in to all you are feeling and have been experiencing so they can put together all the pieces of the puzzle.

Thinking of you today!

Oh,my! Although you have already changed doctors, it sounds like the new doctor is not all that competent. Maybe you need yet another change! Who knows? It might be the right one.

Praying for you and hoping that in spite of the complications you will be able to enjoy Christmas.

Keep those appointments and write down your questions. Make sure they don't let that cyst go... or at least follow it with an Ultrasound to make sure it goes away and doesn't get bigger... Not nice.

My Healing thoughts and prayers are with you. May God Bless you with His healing Power and Grace, may He Bless and Guide your doctors to find out the answers and get you on the path of healing. Blessings to you and yours. And may you have a very Merry Christmas (as best you can anyways) Love and Light, Nina P

Ok so there was this girl I used to work with. She started having stomach cramps and lots of other things just felt wrong. They thought she had some kind of intestinal blockage or something so they put her on laxatives. So then then she started occasionally throwing up so they gave her other medications. She saw every doctor in town including some specialists. Finally she went back to her family doctor who did a blood test. He came back into the room and told her; good news, we found out what your problem is.....You are four months pregnant. I thought that story might cheer you up.
