I Wish You Enough ~ Book Review
Do you ever remember wishing upon a star for something wonderful to happen to you or someone you love? Or perhaps it was to fall in love?
I had the honor to review I Wish You Enough, Embracing Life's Most Valuable Moments One Wish at a Time, by Bob Perks. These are the very books I love and add to my library when they come around.
To give you an idea of what is contained in this wonderful hardbound book, this is from the back cover, " When having more leaves you empty, you discover true happiness lies in enough! Life isn't easy. There are times when we all need a little inspiration, mixed with a lot of hope, to live with a small dose of reality. In I Wish You Enough, Bob Perks presents eight wishes in a magical collection of true, inspirational stories filled with invaluable lessons about seeing the good in the mundane, and recognizing the abundant gifts God provides every day. You'll value what you already have a little more, and begin a new journey of gratitude no matter when challenges you face. You can always find 'enough' to get you through."
The book contains scripture references from the Bible, wonderful quotes from famous authors and writers and beautiful pictures to go along with each of the eight wishes.
My favorite wish is I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. If you think about this one statement it makes you smile. Even though the rain and clouds block out the beautiful blue sky and the warm sunshine, the sun still shines behind the storm and dark clouds. In spite of these last 5 days of continuous rain here in what is normal a sunny state, I've learned to really appreciate this wish! Too many days of sunshine, makes you take advantage of those days when you see them so much.
The Biblical quote that goes hand in hand with this is "and we know that all thing work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28.
Such rainy days brings me back to those childhood memories that are my favorite, walking under an umbrella and listening to the pattering of rain falling just outside my reach, or splashing in the puddles. Just knowing that the rain washes the sky from all the smog and pollution and in it's place a brilliant blue sky awaits, clear air, and the occasional rainbow. Yes, I still get excited whenever I see a rainbow. God's promises are as real today as they were thousands of years ago. Somehow we just need to look for them and keep them close to our hearts.
This book does just that, it leaves you with a contagious smile after reading these simple wishes and leaves you wanting to wish someone enough! This is definitely a must read and great for a gift book for someone that needs a pick me up or a smile or hug from faraway.
I was provided with this complimentary book to review by Thomas Nelson Publishers.

Wing and A Prayer
Good Monday Morning to all my friends and family in blogger land!
Sorry I've managed to successfully pull off a disappearing act this last week but my pain is back in full force and we are back at that same cross roads again. I've been feeling a bit out of sorts as some would say.
Just numb I guess. Kinda wondering just when will I find a doctor that really and truly cares? Is that possible? I've made an appointment today with my primary care doctor again to discuss the wonders of why I am having to jump through so many hoops to get taken care of.
My OB GYN is out of the office today when I attempted to call this morning to get my prescription filled since I am just about out. So that isn't looking like that will happen today. Called my primary doctor to see if I can arrange to see them today to get it filled but their earliest appointment is Wednesday, so that is a big fat NO on getting my prescription refilled by tomorrow or Wednesday.
So what am I left with? Urgent care for a pain shot and some possibilities of getting about 20 pain pills until I get in touch with my doctor along with a $25.00 copay, depending on just how much I enjoy being bent over in a fetal position for hours may just provide the only outlet I can get for today.
So you can see where I stand at today. Not the happiest camper in the world, questioning why is this happening? Not to mention trying to hard not to take my emotions and feelings on my family cause I am not the best person to be around when I am in pain. So as you can see this is where I am today. Arguing with more doctors about refilling my prescription! Help

Rain, Winners, 1940's Flashback, and Mea!
Today was one of the best days I've woken up to in a long time. For most people however, they are probably wishing for this storm to pass quickly and that good old fashioned California sunshine to return. Not me!
Guess I should be moving northward if I favor days like today. Gusty winds, heavy rains, and just safe and warm looking outside my windows at it all coming down. The heater is going because I don't want the fireplace to blow all the smoke back into the house with all the wind we are having. So the heater works fine. Great news is that for most of the week, (fingers crossed), this is going to last all week long. Can't you just see my smile? My mom, knows that on our worst stormy days, that I am smiling from ear to ear and enjoying each and every minute of it. Love you too mom!
So here is what I've been up to besides my End Times Bible Prophecy study which I've been posting about for the last few weeks.
Winner of the "Where Is God?" book giveaway goes to Jane at Jumpin in the Jungle! Congratulations Jane! Once I get your email for your mailing information, the book will be on it's way to you, with perhaps something special added! So please stop by and wish Jane congratulations and say Hi when you stop by to visit her blog.
Next is I wanted to share with you what we did yesterday. I've been meaning to have my oldest daughters pictures taken for quite some time, and since my brother is in the works for becoming the next major photographer we had him take some pictures.
He specializes in 1940's vintage pin up pictures and is also working on recreating that old Hollywood style classic pictures as well. So we had a blast spending the day having him take some amazing pictures of Caitlyn in authentic 1940's clothes and props. He even arranged for a makeup and hair lady to complete that authentic look. Here are just some of the looks he completed for us.
This is all authentic 1940's World War 2 Props with the Bomber Jacket, Boots, Parachutes, glasses and pilot hat. What do you think?
This is Caitlyn's classic picture in front of a parking meter!
Finally my favorite, looking like that old time Hollywood glamor and the dress is amazing!
So which one is your favorite? I love them all, and I'll post even more once he finishes uploading them and adding some more detail. If your interested in contacting him, you can email me and I can provide you prices and his studios information. Trust me, you'll love both the pictures, and the prices he charges!
Last update is on Mea, my 6 year old niece, who is struggling with her eyesight. Some good news and bad news. The good news is that her vision has improved to 20/40 with her glasses on in her bad eye.It was 20/60 but the doctors feel it isn't significant enough. Since it isn't 20/20 with her glasses on, she has to wear an eye patch for four hours each day (bad news), for the next 2 months on her weak eye.
She is so upset that she sees herself as different and doesn't want anyone to see her. It literally breaks my heart. She is truly such a precious angel and needs your prayers more now than ever that God will allow her to see herself as we all do and brilliant, amazing and so beautiful, patch or no patch. Please continue to lift her up in prayers and if you haven't done so already, please add her prayer button to your blog. I know her mom more than appreciates all your efforts and wanted me to pass along her thanks to all of you as well.
Do You Know How to Fast?
“Sometimes you are so hungry that the only way you can be fed is to fast.” Susan Gregory.
In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” Daniel 10:2-3
Are you hungry for more of God in your life? Discover why millions of men and women throughout the world are rediscovering the ancient discipline of fasting – and, as a result, are encountering God in amazing ways.
In the book, The Daniel Fast, Susan Gregory will teach you:
Fasting in a safe and healthy way
Following the 21-day plan to physical and spiritual health (adaptable for a fast of any length)
Creating healthy meals using Daniel Fast foods
Participating in a group fast with your church, family or friends.
Learning how to hear from God and discover His purpose for your life
Included in this book are recipes and devotionals for each day of the 21- day fast, and a FAQ section for those seeking quick answers.
In beginning the Daniel Fast you are combining the Biblical fasts of Daniel with drawing closer to God through reading and studying of the Bible and prayer. In addition to the information you will find in the book, there is also a blog by the author at http://danielfast.wordpress.com to further assist you in learning the principles of fasting. I firmly believe that there are times in our lives where prayer just isn’t enough to answer the difficulties we are facing in our lives. Fasting is one of those mysteries that are discussed in the Bible but not much is really know in relation to what should we be doing, how should we be eating, how long can you do this and what should our expectations be in our relationship with God by completing a fast.
If you have ever wanted to study this same fast that Daniel completed, I would highly recommend this book to you. You can obtain this book at Tyndale House Publishers.
List Price: 13.99
ISBN: 978-1-4143-3413-4
Binding: Softcover
Release: January 2010
I received a complimentary copy of the Daniel Fast from Tyndale House Publishers to review. If you would like to leave me a comment, I will be giving away a copy of this book on January 25th.
Yet before you begin any eating plan, you should consult your physician first.
The Second Coming of Christ
What would you do if Jesus Christ was returning today at 3pm. Something tells me that we'd all be looking our best at 2:45pm. Then why aren't we? What are we waiting for?
Reading all these posts about Bible Prophecy will do no good if we aren't willing to change. We are missing the point.
Revelation 19: 11-17 " I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white hourse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on Him that no one know but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the wine press with his fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." (NIV)
The second coming of Jesus Christ will be public and seen by all-unlike the surprise rapture of the church which takes place in the twinkling of an eye. There will be no question that you are witnessing the return of Jesus Christ.
This will be accompanied by sadness and weeping. There will be mourning in Jerusalem and throughout Israel that the Jews will realize that Jesus Christ really was their Messiah.
Zachariah 12:10, " And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a first born son."
Jesus Christ comes before judgment with the rapture of the church prior to the beginning of the Tribulation, while He comes with judgment when He returns to earth in His Second Coming. In the rapture He comes for His people, and in the Second Coming, He comes with His people.
Looking back at the description of Jesus Christ when we see Him at the Second Coming, his eyes are blazing, He is wearing many crowns, and His robe is dipped in blood.
His eyes blazing with fire, represent His power, His glory, His holiness and His wrath.
His many crowns signifies that He alone is ruler of all the universe.
The robe dipped in blood, signifies the price He paid when He died to save us all from our sins.
Yet Jesus is not coming alone. The scripture states that the armies of heaven are coming with Him. Who are these armies?
Jude 14: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones..." (NIV)
So who are the His holy ones? Colossians 3:4, "For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory."
It is speaking of those of us that believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. We are the ones that will be accompanying Him. We will all get to see the Holy Land from ring side seats, so if we never get to go during our human lifetime, we will get the ultimate Holy Land tour when we return with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
So what should we be doing in the meantime?
1. Watching for Him - We are to be aware that Jesus could come at any minute. We need to be aware of the signs of the times.
2. Being Ready to Go - We need to make sure that if Jesus came back at any minute, would we be embarrassed or ashamed at where He would find us or what we are doing? If the answer to that is yes, then don't do it.
3. Be Anxiously Awaiting - Do not fear this coming of the Lord, but be excited, joyful and filled with hope. If you have any anxiety, fear or dread, perhaps something isn't right in your spiritual life.
If you aren't 100% guaranteed that your passport to Heaven has your name assigned to it, it's not too late, but you may not have a second change to make this decision. Are you ready to accept God? As a believer, are you ready to recommit your life to serving Him with the time we have left?
Christians. It's time to get right or get left. Ready? Pray this prayer!
Lord Jesus,
Come into my life!
I know that I am a sinner!
I thank You for dying on the cross for me and rising again from the dead.
Now fill me up with Your Spirit and write my name in Your Book of Life,
and help me follow You all the days of my life.
Thank you that my sins are forgiven and that I am now going to heaven.
In Jesus Name I pray! ~ AMEN!
If you just prayed that prayer, you are a new creation and a believer in Jesus Christ. This is the reason for His delaying of the rapture of the church. You will now be part of that ultimate family reunion and I can't wait to welcome you when I see you!
Join me tomorrow when we will look at what happens when Jesus begins His wrath here on Earth, you don't want to miss it!

Battle of Armageddon Begins
Did you know that there is a type or font called "Second coming type"? It's a really big font used by newspapers to announce a mega event. An example of this type set is when President Kennedy was shot in Dallas, Pearl Harbor was bombed, as well as the September 11th event.
I googled it just to see what I could come up with and found this:
"My local newspapers used two-inch high type for headlines about the arrest of two men in the Washington-area sniper case. In journalism school we called these "Second Coming of Christ headlines." Nobody around here seems to have heard that term so I thought I'd share. Second coming is the largest display type used for newspaper headlines; reserved for news of the highest importance. "
This is the kind of font that is geared to leap off the page and get the reader to "READ ME"!!
Even non believers believe that Jesus Christ will be coming back. In a recent poll that was taken 66% of Americans believe that and that is 25% more than those that claim to be born again.
One verse in every 25 in the Bible makes some mention of the Lord's return.
Matthew 24:29-30 - "Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time the Son of the Man will appear in the sky, and all of the nations of the earth will mourn." (NIV)
Before Christ returns however, one event must occur, that is the battle of Armageddon. Armageddon will be the final conflicts of mankind.
In a quote from Douglas MacArthur, "I am concerned for the security of our great Nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within."
Events in the West Asia concerned him so much that Reagan wrote on May 15, 1981, ''Sometimes I wonder if we are destined to witness Armageddon.''
Then on June 7 Reagan wrote, ''Got word of Israel bombing of Iraq -- nuclear reactor. I swear I believe Armageddon is near.''
Makes you wonder what our past leaders would have said to the events of the terrorist attacks against the World Trade Centers, the arming of Iraq and North Korea with nuclear weapons as well as the continued threats from Iran to wipe Israel off the face of the map.
Armageddon will not be just one final war but is defined as the Valley of Megiddo. These final conflicts that will be taking place in this valley in Israel. You can visit this place even today and I've included the picture above. It's a vast plain and some major wars have already been fought there, the Canaanites were defeated there, as well as Gideon defeated the Midionites and Saul was killed on this battlefield as well.
Napoleon in 1799 when he was at war at Megiddo said that in all the armies of the world, there is no more suitable place for battle on earth than here.
In reference to the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse the white rider as you remember represented the anti-Christ rising to power, who will rebuild the Jewish temple, and establish a lasting peace treaty with Israel before setting up his own idol to defile that temple of the Jews.
The red horse represents war. World War 1 claimed over 10 million lives and was suppose to be the war to end all wars. Yet 20 years, World War 2 claimed over 50 million lives.
The major players in the final conflict will be the anti-Christ, the 10 confederated nations under the anti-Christ and the kings from the east who will all meet to plan that battle.
Revelations 16: 14, 16 " They are the spirits of demons performing many miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty. Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon. "(NIV)
Who are the kings of the east? There is a clue in Revelation 9:16 "The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number." (NIV)
Who has an army that vast? China I believe but we can't say for certain by in a Newsweek magazine on May 9, 2005, this was the cover story, "A new power is emerging in the East. How America should handle unprecedented new challenges, threats‹and opportunities." The article goes on to expand on all the recent changes within China and includes this quote:
"China's rise is no longer a prediction. It is a fact. It is already the world's fastest-growing large economy, and the second largest holder of foreign-exchange reserves, mainly dollars. It has the world's largest army (2.5 million men) and the fourth largest defense budget, which is rising by more than 10 percent annually. Whether or not it overtakes the United States economically, which looks to me like a distant prospect, it is the powerful new force on the global scene.
Great-power conflict is something the world has not seen since the cold war. But if it were to begin, all the troubles we worry about now—terrorism, Iran, North Korea—would pale in comparison. It would mean arms races, border troubles, and perhaps more. Even without those dire scenarios, China complicates international life. Take relations between the United States and Europe. Iraq was a temporary problem. But differing attitudes on the rise of China are likely to produce permanent strains in the Western Alliance."
So if you look at the rise of China along with India and Japan, that makes Asia look like one vast super power nation. Not only that but the largest population on Earth is China with 1.3 billion people living there.
Can you imagine that? In 1997, China claimed that they could raise an army of 352 million people. So if they sent 200 million to the battle at Armageddon, that would still leave 152 million left to guard China.
When John wrote about this prophecy there weren't even 200 million people populating the world at his time.
Basically the tribulation period is going to be the darkest most evil time in our worlds history where the anti-Christ will show his true colors eventually. He will hunt down and kill the Jewish people and Christian believers that have not accepted the mark of the beast.
Yet God will still get His word out. The Holy Spirit will still be here after the church is raptured. There is nothing to argue this point in scripture. Many people will still physically show up at church and realized that they have been left behind. They will call their Christian friends or family members only to have us never answer the phone. They will come to the horrifying realization that they have missed it.
In those days 144,000 Jews will be raised up to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Messiah. They will have divine protection placed upon them and will travel all over the world spreading the gospel. Think 144,000 Billy Grahams.
There will also be the angelic mop up. The angels themselves will also be delivering the message to everyone who has not heard. This answers the question we all ask ourselves, well what about that one person living alone in the jungles somewhere.
Revelation 14:6 "Then I saw another angel flying in the midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth - to every nation, tribe, language and people." (NIV)
God will then raise up two witnesses that will minister to the world. They will have divine power as well to call down fire from the heavens and turn water into blood. Who are these two? Some say that it is Moses and Elijah, since Moses has already turned water into blood and Elijah has called forth fire from the heavens and these two were present with Jesus at the transfiguration. They could also be Enoch and Elijah since neither of them experienced death, Enoch went for a walk and God took him, while Elijah was taken by chariot to heaven. We simply don't know.
What we do know is that the anti-Christ will have them executed, a leave their bodies to lay in a street in Jerusalem. The Bible says that they will lay there for all the world to see. Now that wasn't even a remote possibility 100 years ago, but with our technology today it is possible for everyone everywhere to see it simultaneously. Think YouTube videos, computers, IPhones, cell phones, laptops, cables, satellite and just plain old TV.
They will lay there until God calls for them to rise from the dead. Then they will rise up to heaven in a cloud in front of their enemies.
Revelation 11:11 "But after three and half days a breath of life from God entered them, (referring to the two witnesses) and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on." (NIV)
Do you really want to be around to witness what comes after this? Tune in on Monday for even more.
Don't forget about the book giveaway is drawing to a close to win a copy of Where is God listed here.

Where does the United States fit into the End Times?
I watched while the Lamb ripped off the first of the seven seals.
I heard one of the Animals roar, "Come out!" I looked—I saw a white horse. Its rider carried a bow and was given a victory garland. He rode off victorious, conquering right and left.
3-4When the Lamb ripped off the second seal, I heard the second Animal cry, "Come out!" Another horse appeared, this one red. Its rider was off to take peace from the earth, setting people at each other's throats, killing one another. He was given a huge sword.
5-6When he ripped off the third seal, I heard the third Animal cry, "Come out!" I looked. A black horse this time. Its rider carried a set of scales in his hand. I heard a message (it seemed to issue from the Four Animals): "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, or three quarts of barley, but all the oil and wine you want."
7-8When he ripped off the fourth seal, I heard the fourth Animal cry, "Come out!" I looked. A colorless horse, sickly pale. Its rider was Death, and Hell was close on its heels. They were given power to destroy a fourth of the earth by war, famine, disease, and wild beasts.
9-11When he ripped off the fifth seal, I saw the souls of those killed because they had held firm in their witness to the Word of God. They were gathered under the Altar, and cried out in loud prayers, "How long, Strong God, Holy and True? How long before you step in and avenge our murders?" Then each martyr was given a white robe and told to sit back and wait until the full number of martyrs was filled from among their servant companions and friends in the faith.
For so long, I've wondered just where does the United States fit into the End Times prophecy, because for me, it has always been missing or is it simply just hidden within the text somewhere.
During my two week study into the End Times Bible Prophecy, I have a few beliefs of just where we might wind up if your interested.
This part of my study and blog postings has already dealt with my personal belief that the church and all it's believers have been raptured and the anti-christ is beginning to emerge onto the world. The anti-christ is the one referred to in the scriptures within Revelation 6: 1-11 listed above.
He will come as a man of peace that will later change into the most evil person and war, disease and famine will follow him as well as working with the false prophet who will be the spiritual or religious leader during the last days.
Revelation 19:20 "But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur."
The false prophet will create a one world religious system that works for everyone, Hindus, Buddhists, Catholics, Protestants, believers, non believers, New Age and Occult people and those who want to make God into their own image or making. They will borrow from these previous religions all the things that work for everyone until they have their belief systems.
The anti-christ will push this new one world religion and will also change the global economic woes through the sophisticated, international I.D. system that will offer solutions to our economic concerns today.
Revelation 13:16-18 "He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is hte name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the man's number. His number is 666. "
The Bible has predicted the collaspe of the economies of the world. This new numbering system would allow people to buy and sell, and this would have been difficult to understand 100 years ago, but not with technology the way it is today.
Our current technology would allow this to become a reality. A single common currency has been the debate in the world for quite some time, yet no one country can figure out just which one they should go with. Yet a cashless society would work for all.
Let's look at how we are doing this now: debit cards, credit cards, fast pass credit cards, keyless ignitions in our vehicles, bar scans on products, microchips in dogs and cats, Onstar, GPS, cell phones and Iphones, as well as devices that can locate us using these devices is all now possible. Right now it could fit into a grain of rice but as technology improves, that may be even smaller.
There is even a current company called Verichip that is operating this very thing today:
On November 10, 2009, VeriChip Corporation (NASDAQ: CHIP) completed its acquisition of Steel Vault Corporation (OTCBB: SVUL) and formed PositiveID Corporation. In conjunction with the name change, PositiveID will begin trading under the new ticker symbol "PSID" on the NASDAQ effective November 11, 2009. For more information, please visit www.positiveidcorp.com.
VeriChip Corporation operates in two distinct businesses. Its VeriMed Health Link system rapidly and accurately identifies people who arrive in an emergency room and are unable to communicate. Its VeriGreen Energy subsidiary focuses on investment opportunities in the clean and alternative energy sector.
There is also the disturbing quote from WWII Belgian General,Paul Henry Spock in 1957 who said, "
"We need no commission, we have already too many. What we need is a man who is great enough to be able to keep all the people in subjection to himself and to lift us out of the economic bog into which we threaten to sink. Send us such a man. Be he a god or a devil, we will accept him."
So where does that leave the United States in reference to Bible prophecy since we know most of the major players already are there, Israel, Iran, Libia, Russia, China, Sudan, and even most of Europe. I believe we will not play a part in the end times prophecy and here are some of the possibilities of where we might wind up and thus not mentioned.1. The entire country is destroyed by nuclear attack. We can't rule this out, or argue that its not possible or couldn't happen. Remember in yesterdays post, we read that 27,000 nuclear weapons exist in the world today, with rogue nations like North Korea or Iran threatening to use them, or even the thought that some terrorist organization could use them against us. Some many countries and groups do not favor the United States at all. I seriously hope this is not the reason that the United States is not mentioned in the End times prophecies.
2. We decline as a World Power. Nations have always risen and fallen throughout the Bible. In an St. Petersberg Times article dated on March 15, 2009, Mark Hitchcock claims the following:
"The nation's new president isn't the much-feared Antichrist of the book of Revelation. And America will not figure as a superpower in the end-of-the world toss-up.
Those are the opinions of Pastor Mark Hitchcock, author of about 20 books on the end times. His most recent bears the ominous title The Late Great United States, What Bible Prophecy Reveals about America's Last Days.
Hitchcock made his pronouncement during an interview in St. Petersburg, where hundreds gathered from 35 states and several countries for the 2009 International Prophecy Conference that featured among its speakers Tim LaHaye of the megaselling Left Behind series."
So it leads us to believe that something must happen to the United States that would reveal why we are not mentioned in Bible Prophecy regarding the end times.
The United States has been a super power for almost 233 years and counting where as previous nations have risen and fallen within the same time period such as Babylon Empire last 86 years, the Persian Empire has lasted 208 years, the Greece Empire lasted 268 years, Rome lasted 8 centuries, and the British Empire lasted 250 years. So look at where that leaves us with our current economic crisis, the decline of the US dollar and our own unemployment numbers.
3. A Great Revival Sweeps the Nation. I love this one the best. Revivals have happened historically and that if we are raptured like I believe before the tribulation period, and you consider the number of people living in the United States that claim they are born again, let's just say that number is roughly 50 million. How would it impact our current country to have 50 million people vanish in an instant?
So what can we do? Pray for our country and it's leaders like never before.
Let us reach out to a hurting world like never before and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. We need more John 3:16's than M16's. We need to get back to the true God of the Bible. God promises to bless us if we turn to him yet we are not and Christians even today are being the targets of that persecution more than any other religion.
2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I har from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Who does God address is this passage of scripture, the non believer? No, the believer! God's people, His people. We are not living like we should, we are still living wicked lives and we need to turn from that and do His will even within the church today. God will see us and know our hearts!
So are you ready? Are you right with God? Do you know with absolute certainity where you are going when you die?
Stop making excuses, stop thinking you have all the time in the world, don't believe the lies that Hell is going to be one big huge party place for you and all your friends. It's not! It is not the place you or anyone you care about will want to wind up. Make the choice today and accept God as your Savior.
Lord Jesus,
Come into my life!
Tune in tomorrow and see just what will happen to the world when Jesus comes back in the Second Coming.

Anti-Christ and the End Times
Suave, well bred, intelligent, engaging, charismatic, what do these words have in common with my discussion on the anti-christ? Because I believe that in order for people to believe in the lie of the anti-christ he is certainly not going to come in the form of a person wearing black, with red, glowing eyes, smelling of sulfur and accompanied with some evil music playing wherever he goes. He will likely be those things I have described at the beginning. Sort of a devil wears prada kind of guy who will likely be on the covers of Time Magazine right along side GQ!
Some of the titles he has been referred to are the man of sin, the son of perdition, the little horn, the wicked one, the prince who is to come, the one who makes desolate, and the beast, just to name a few that the anti christ will answer to.
If you google the word anti-christ, you will likely get back more than 5 million pages of information as well as Hollywood's take on so many of those movies detailing his life and even the music industry as well. Marilyn Manson dedicated an entire album to the anti-christ.
If Satan ever had a son, it would be the anti-christ. The only person to ever come so close has been Judas Iscariot, who sold out Jesus Christ for 30 pieces of silver.
Back in 1970's a poll was taken and 49% of people believed in the anti-christ. In Newsweek in 1999, the same poll revealed that 19% of people believe that the anti-christ is alive right now.
January 17, 2007, a group of scientists have decided to move the doomsday clock ahead to more minutes now putting the end of the world at 5 minutes to midnight. These are not uneducated people, most are noble prize winners and couple that with the knowledge that 27,000 nuclear weapons are in the hands of not only the super power nations but in rogue nations like North Korea and Iran.
In keeping with my previous posts on when all these events will take place and my belief in pre-tribulation of the church, here is more evidence that I believe that this can't happen until the church is raptured first.
2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 - "For the secret power of the lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrown with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. "
This is why I believe that the anti-christ can't come until the rapture of the church. That restraining force or the one who now holds it back, is referring to the Holy Spirit through the church, or the godly women and men of our church.
The lawless one will be the anti-christ. So we, as Christians, should continue to look for Jesus and not get so completely consumed with trying to figure out just who the anti-christ is. There is even a website devoted on trying to figure out just who the antichrist is. We need to refocus on efforts on looking to God for the answers instead of what man thinks.
Another reason I believe in pre-tribulation rapture of the church is based on scripture that keeps Christians free from tribulations as a reward. Not to be confused with personal tribulations of our own trials and sufferings.
Philippians 3:10 "I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself. If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it." This refers to the personal sufferings, we as believers will all face each day until we die.
Yet if you look back at history you will see that God when he pours out His judgement, his people have been spared. He never pours out His wrath on His people which is what the Great Tribulation will be. It will be 7 years of God's judgement on this Earth.
2 Peter 2:9 "if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.c]">[c] 10This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful natured]">[d] and despise authority."
Yet before this scripture reference above we have the story of Noah and Lot who were godly men that we spared before God poured out His wrath on not only the world, through the flood, but the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. God reserves His judgment for the unjust not the just.
In the book of Revelation Chapter 6 beginning in verse one, we hear the descriptions of the 4 horsemen and the wrath that each of them brings.
The one who sits on the white horse has been confused by so many as being Jesus Christ, but it is the anti-christ. It is similar because that is how he will deceive the world, coming to us like the Christ and Messiah. The word anti- means against or instead of.
Matthew 24: 4 "Jesus answered: Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name claiming, I am the Christ, and will deceive many."
Thus he is the pale version of the real thing. He will come to confuse and deceive many. He will come as a man of peace. He will succeed where others have failed. There have been numerous attempts of getting a peace agreement signed with warring countries but all of them have failed. Yet his accomplishments in this will be so grand that many will call him the new Christ or Messiah.
Even Jews living in the world today, don't believe that Jesus was/is the Messiah. They believe that he will come as a man of peae, and help the Jewish people rebuild their temple, and bring about a peace agreement to their land. They honestly don't care if we call him the anti-christ or God. All the Jews want is peace in their land.
This anti-christ will make all the previous world dictators like, Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Hussein, and others, like mild to the acts he will commit against the world and the people in it. Just as Hitler came to deceive so many and was elected head of Germany, so the anti-christ will deceive the whole world with his plans and his ways.
More to come on where America plays a part in all this End of the World and Armageddon plans for our future, tomorrow!

Just Another Random Act of Kindness to Share
Today, I was in the parking lot and passed an extremely dirty car. The car had a sticker on the window that said "My brother fights for our freedom." Above it, written in the dirt, said "God bless him" with an arrow pointing toward the sticker. Random thankfulness Gives Me Hope!
Today's Tip: Do something nice for our service men or women in uniform today, offer them a cup of coffee, or buy them lunch. Tell them thanks and really mean it.
Leap Year ~ Movie Review
Ever wonder why it always has to be the man to ask the woman to marry him? Why can't a woman ask a man? So enters the premise behind the wonderful movie I had the opportunity to see this weekend.
It stars Amy Adams as a woman whose been involved in a relationship for over 4 years and wonders one day just when her boyfriend played by Adam Scott will pop the question. Over lunch one day her best friend tells her she spots that boyfriend coming out of a pricey jewelry store that is known for engagement rings and both assume a proposal is coming.
Later that night at dinner at a very expensive and romantic restaurant, she is waiting for what seems to be a proposal coming in the forms of various clues from her boyfriend about how much he loves her. Then he places a small, black velvet ring box on her plate and when she opens it, she is more than surprised when earrings are inside.
She then decides to propose to him and agrees to fly all the way to Ireland because tradition claims that on February 29th of Leap Year, a woman can propose to a man. Yet along the way to locating her boyfriend she meets Matthew Goode and their adventure begins.
Since I am fond of buying romantic, chick flick like movies this one will be a must have when it comes to DVD for my library. What a perfect movie to see over Valentine's Day with your loved one if you can wait that long. Don't forget to enter the book giveaway for a copy of Where is God on my blog post for yesterday.

The Busy Couple's Guide to Sharing the Work and the Joy ~ Book Review
The Busy Couple’s Guide to Sharing the Work and the Joy
By Kathy Peel
Seems like on all the home improvement channels there is a need for organization. I’ve got countless shows that promise to help a family find a place for things, keep their home more organized and less cluttered, but honestly how close is that for most of us.
Actually with this great, outstanding book I had the opportunity to review for Tyndale Publishers, I think it’s possible for all of us. The best part I love about the book is that it is written from the male and female perspective for accomplishing certain tasks. Whether your more the go with the flow kind of things and he is the micro manager who can master finding places for everything, or somewhere in between or just the opposite, then you will love this book.
Here is an example of just one of the ways this book has helped me personally. We all have a computer in our family. My youngest has hers for homeschooling, my teen for college classes, I have mine for paying bills, blogging and book reviews and my hubby has one for work. So how does a family manage the amount of hours we spend on these computers so we can still have a life with one another?
Did you know that the average child today spends 45 hours a week with some form of media, according to Common Sense Media, compared with just 30 hours in school.
Here are some suggestions from the book:
1. Take time now to establish limits on computers and cell phone devices.
2. Keep your computer set up in the open so you can monitor your kid’s usage and you and your spouse will be less likely to spend inordinate amounts of time on it if family members are nearby.
3. Turn off the computer when it’s not being used. You’ll be less likely to think, I’ll just take a minute to check my email if you have to restart your computer to do so.
4. Turn off the computer at the same time each night. At the end of a long day, it’s often easier to mindlessly surf the internet than to get ready for bed.
5. Set and enforce the limits of time your kids spend watching TV or playing video games. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children spend no more than one to two hours with any form of media each day.
6. Honestly assess whether you’re relying on the computer or video games to keep your kids busy so you can work around the house or get needed downtime. If so, talk with your spouse about how you can spend more time interacting with your kids and how you can encourage them to occupy themselves whether by playing outdoors or doing chores for extra spending money.
7. Use a timer and keep track of the time. It is easy to let that get away from you and the kids.
8. Don’t automatically answer the phone or respond to text messages. Talk and respond to people when it’s convenient for you. (Page 30)
As you can see the book is filled with so many great topics, that I thought I would share just a few with you that are covered in this book.
Managing Your Time and Schedules
Managing Your Home and Property
Managing Menus and Meals
Managing Relationships with Family and Friends
Managing Special Events
Managing Yourself
I was provided with a complimentary copy to review by Tyndale House Publishers and would highly recommend this book to anyone!
Where is God? ~ Book Review
Ever wonder in the midst of all the tragedies in today's world, is God really there? Did He abandon you? Is He too busy? Are you being punished?
Now more than ever in the last few years many people have begun to ask the question, where is God in my crisis? Sometimes our countless days and months of prayer seemingly go by without any answer so we are left to wonder, did God hear me?
We have a family illness or possible death and wonder will God hear our prayer? Will He heal them? Will I be the one to receive the miraculous healing?
So often in these times it is normal to question our God and ask why, much like our children pose that very same question to us as parents so many times when they too, don't understand. Yet despite their circumstances, we are there, we've never left our children, and we are right there by their side enduring whatever it is with them.
God is the very same way. Much like a parent who has to witness some life altering event in the life of their child, parents will hold their childs hand, cry with them, reassure them, and offer whatever comfort they can.
The only difference is that we are physically present and God isn't that physical presence that we would all love to have. Yet He is there right with us, no matter what. He is never too busy. You are that important to Him that He will make whatever time you need and endure it all with you.
I was fortunate to review the book, Where is God? from Dr. John Townsend for Thomas Nelson publishers at a time in my own personal life where I too have asked that question. I found so much peace and solace within the pages of this book and each was reference with many many scripture references and Biblical examples to mirror our own lives. Even Jesus himself was faced with so many of those same situations and He too cried out to God, " My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
Even Jesus wondered where God was in the midst of all His suffering, yet we see just how faithful God is in His timing of these situations. While the answer to our prayers might be a speedy yes, it may also be a long one as well taking many years to answer. It may be a No or even the dreaded wait!
Yet in the midst of it all, God's promises are everlasting and the book does offer comfort. An ever increasing number of people are still asking this question daily. People want to know what God is doing. How can He make a difference in their economic downturn, their job struggles, their relational hardships, even their health issues? Maybe you have those very same questions.
"God has not left you twisting in the wind, nor is He playing hide-and-seek," says Dr. Townsend. "He wants to be present with you and powerful for you in your circumstances. He may bring a miracle. He may create a new path. And He may walk with you through a loss. But however your hard time plays out, He is here. He is for you, no matter your struggle."
I am giving away a copy of this book, "Where is God?" by Dr. John Townsend if you leave a comment. I am very confident that this book will help comfort you while you wait for His answer and you will feel His presence in your life. If you post about this giveaway on your blog, I will provide you with another entry, please post a separate comment and let me know. Also if you follow me, I'll add another entry for you. SO you can see three entries per person are possible.
I have received a copy of this book to review by Thomas Nelson Publishers.
Morning!
Good Monday Morning Everyone!
Here is hoping that you all had a wonderful weekend. For those of you snowed in, frozen solid or simply too cold for words, I hope you stayed warm, in front of a toasty fire and really enjoyed some quality family time.
Today is a simple update post since I have so much going on, I want to update all of you on everything.
1. My Health ~ I was great for about 5 days, no pain, no pain meds and then low and behold on Friday just after someone called and inquired and I actually told them I was doing better, come Friday afternoon, the pain came back. Thankfully I have an appointment today at 4pm PST and hoping to see just what my options are and what is really going on inside.
2. I want to congratulate Chel from Abiding Branch for winning the One Day Way Diet book. If you email me, I can get that off to you as soon as I can. Look for another giveaway this week for Where Is God? once I post that. Great book. I'll probably post it later today so make sure you enter to win.
3. Mea, my niece goes in this week for her eye exam and with so many of you praying for her, we are hoping that God blesses us with some wonderful news. We will know on January 13th, Wednesday so keep lifting her up in your prayers.
4. Steve's Mother is back in the hospital, her third time since I've first blogged about her for her heart arrhythmia again. Since she has diabetes, the doctors have been unable to perform an angiogram to detect what is going on with her rapid heart rate because of her kidneys operating at about 30%. Please pray that God will make this possible so they can figure out just what is going on. For now she remains in the hospital.
5. Kailee's birthday is coming up in about 2 weeks if any of you would love to send along a Birthday card to her, I know she would just love to get something in the mail. Simply email me and I'll send you our address. She is turning the big 11 on January 28th.
Thanks for you many continued prayers for our family and for me. I've definitely felt it over the last few weeks and know that even in the middle of the storm, God's healing waters are still washing over me.

Rapture...Fantasy or Reality?
In the second part of my blog posts on the end times Bible Prophecy I am continuing where I left off. If you missed yesterdays blog, I would suggest you start here and then come back.
Because I truly believe in the pre-tribulation theory, my studies are based around those Bible events that lead me to believe that our next major event in Bible history will be the rapture of the church.
What is that you may ask? It is being taken by force as a believe in Jesus Christ, to meet with Him and our loved ones that have gone before us that also are believers to be with Him forever. We will not have to physically die in our bodies.
This will be the ultimate family reunion with our loved ones who have died before us. No more sorrow and sadness and will experience joy in an instant.
In the twinkling of an eye is how quickly this will all take place. That is faster than we can blink. It is actually 1 /1000th of a second. Your mind can't even comprehend just how fast that is. One second your here and the next you are reunited with family and God.
Will we be the generation of believers to see this happen? No one really knows, however quite some time ago believers thought it would have happened already based on world events that were occurring at that time. So why didn't it?
Have you sat in church recently and seen anyone come to God? That is the very reason it hasn't happened yet. God is waiting for that one person to believe and then we are outta here.
2 Peter 3:9 " The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but for everyone to come to repentance."
So where does the Bible say all this rapture stuff will happen?
2 Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the coice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead is Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to met the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." Matthew 24:40-42, "Two me will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on which day our Lord will come." 1 John 3:2 "But we share know that when He appears we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is." 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, "Listen, I tell you a mystery; We will all not sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed."
Can you imagine just how many current Christian believers are living on the Earth currently among a population of 7 billion? Can you explain how much that would impact the World to have all those people gone from all over the world in an instant?
Can you see how it would set the stage then for the anti-christ to rise up? This can't happen until the church is removed from the world.
Think about how the economies and the businesses would be impacted during that rapture of the believers. This is the perfect time for a charismatic person who is wise in economic and military strategies to come to power and fix everything.
We won't have to worry about a one world currency even though they have been talking about it for years, it will be more likely to see a one world government with a cashless society thanks to where technology has us all headed in the future.
This can not occur until the existing restraining force is removed. What is that? The church through the rapture will provide no more resistance on the Earth.
Christians for the most part are the ones that speak up for what is right and true in the world today. We are the ones helping when natural disasters strike, when the homeless and hurting need help and to restore and hold together families and marriages.
Once that is gone from the face of the Earth, evil can pretty much do what it wants with no one to speak out against what is right or wrong anymore.
So at this time let your thoughts be on heaven and eternity with God.
Here are some of the effects of the Rapture.
1. No death! The generation that witnesses this event will not die a physical death.
2. It will happen in a instant. 1 Corinthians 15:51
3. Transformation - New Bodies, no more aging, health issues or disabilities.
4. Rescue Operation - God's Special Ops Team will come to remove us all to avoid the tribulation period. 1 Thessalonians 1:10, "to wait for his Son from heaven, who he raised from the dead ~ Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath." This is where I come to believe in pre-tribulation.
So what is the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming? Aren't they the same? No. Here are the differences.
Rapture: will be a stealth event, we will meet Jesus in the air, He comes for His church and before judgement.
Second Coming: It will be a public event, Jesus comes to Earth, with His church, and with Judgement.
So what should we as Christians do? Walk with God. Like Enoch who was the proto-type who experienced a solo rapture.
Genesis 5:24, "Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away." He did not die. He took a walk with God and went home with Him.
That is how we need to live our lives, walking with God, consistently and constantly!
Are you sure you'd be ready when God returns or will you be left? Do you have that ultimate certainty behind any reasonable doubt? If not, let's fix that now!
We need to repent or turn away, stop doing sin filled things and stop living in both worlds even as Christians.
Look for what happens when the church is gone and see just why you want to make sure you aren't here for what is coming next tomorrow!

Bible Prophecy's Coming to Pass?
Do you think based on our current world's events that we are living in the end times?
Do you think the rapture of the church is just around the corner?
Do you think the prophecies spoken of in Daniel, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mark and Revelation are really coming to pass?
I've been a lover of Bible Prophecy since I first came to God. I spent so many years caught up in the worlds view of prophecy with astronomy, astrology and even witchcraft and the darker arts. It was just part of my childhood to remain curious about the things we can't explain yet happen anyway. That is until I knew better.
I personally feel that God drew me to Him through that curiosity and pointed out to me through some major life changing events during those times just what war was really going on in my life waging war in the unseen world for my soul.
I can remember consuming end times Bible Prophecy books that I could get my hands on. I wanted to know just how close we were to seeing all this happen. How soon was the rapture of the church going to take place?
I remember watching my first movie on the old movie projectors in church about the Rapture and quite honestly for my age, that movie did more to scare me than it did to bring me to God. I didn't want to lose my family. I certainly didn't want to be left behind either while my family was taken.
So just where does that leave us in regards to Bible Prophecy for today?
Have you been watching anything in regards to the world events? Natural disasters becoming more frequent and coming in greater intensity. Let's just take a gander at that one.
Al Gore would like us all to believe that it comes under the Global Warming umbrella, however we are seeing signs that this is not true. Places all over the globe are seeing record low temperatures or even snow and ice in places it hasn't happened to ever. Look at the headlines today. Even the once great Inconvenient Truth is being questioned that the documentation isn't exactly as accurate as they wanted.
Yet what has happened when it comes to greater intensity and greater frequency in our natural disasters. Here are the indisputable facts.
1. Earthquake in China killed 69,000
2. 2005 in Pakistan, earthquake killed 80,000
3. Tsunami in the Philippines and Malaysia in 2008, which is an underground earthquake moved the entire island of Sumatra 100 feet to the east and over 290,000 people died.
4. Hurricane Katrina in 2005 claimed at least 800 deaths.
These are just a few of the handful of daily world wide major reports that should be a warning sign to all that something is changing, something is shifting and it isn't global warming.
Mark 13: 8 "nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains."
Coincidence? Not hardly. Yet are these the things we should be concerned with as Christians? Yes and No! We should be on alert that they are happening but we will all be removed from the Earth before they get really bad, I believe.
I believe in Pre-rapture which means to me that we, as believers in Christ, will not have to endure the trials of the Tribulation period. We will be taken from here before any of that happens. This is not referred to as the second coming of Christ. We will go to meet Him, Jesus, but He will come to us. Not yet!
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 "According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left til the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. "
So we are to be encouraged. We have hope. But where does that leave us with where we are at today?
Mark 13: 2 "Do you see all these great buildings?" replied Jesus, "Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."
I believe that Jesus is referring to the destruction of the temple that Herod had built that occurred in 70 A.D. It took Herod 47 years to build it and only 7 years for it to all come down. Even the gold that used to line the top blocks of the temple were taken down and melted away for the gold. This temple has not been rebuilt since.
So I believe that the rapture is the next big event waiting to unfold, despite the call for a one world currency and the tensions going on in the middle East. That I will save for tomorrow when I take you through Ezekiel 37-39 and lay out the major players against Israel in the beginning of the Tribulation period that lies just on the horizon.
So Christians take heed and be blessed by reading this according to Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those that hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near."
Time to begin my study once again of Bible Prophecy and share the good news to all who come this way. Rejoice for there is hope!

2009 Survey Say's?
I found this a few days ago while stopping by to visit Tami at Hearts Make Families. Since I missed out on my opportunity to blog on December 31st, 2009, a recap of all that 2009 did for me in my life, this came at a perfect time to share with all of you. Join in and have a blast!
1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
I began blogging. I awoke on January 1st with divine inspiration and a name from God to begin this process and carry it through for at least one whole year. It's been so much fun and I've met so many new friends, I have to keep on going.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make them because I can't keep them. I do try and set goals for myself. I completed some but need to re-evaluate those for 2010 and see how much better I can do for myself in 2010!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope, most of the people I know are done with having kids and are now enjoying raising them.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
I had a very close friend, Loren whom I call my sister, lose her dad to God's heavenly home! Can't wait to meet him when it's my turn to go.
5. What countries did you visit?
Not this year but who knows what God's plans are for 2010!
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
More time with my husband. He worked so many hours for a company that doesn't see that hard work pays off and will grant him time with his family if he has to take them away from us.
7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
All the times we wished Steve was home with us, but was called out to work out of town. Too many to list!
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Completing my blog after a year!
9. What was your biggest failure?
My health failed in the final months of 2009!
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Still waiting to be diagnosed!
11. What was the best thing you bought?

New Blog and a Prayer Request
This year so far is going to amazing and I can already sense God's hand in everything I do. Like Paul, though I pray for my illness and health to improve, God has not in His timing allowed that to happen just yet. I praise His holy name for He knows when and where this will happen so I am holding on to His promise that He will remain faithful and not forsake me. Thank you so much for all your wonderful well wishes and keeping me in your prayers.
Thank you goes out to Christy Rose at the Secret Life of An American Wife and Mom for sending me a great book entitled PS God Loves You! They are simply messages from God to you. Already I have been so touched and feel God's love just by reading them one at a time. Thank you again Christie for your loving gift.
I wanted to bring to your attention a new venture that my youngest daughter started to improve her writing and give her a chance to share her world with all of you. She started her own blog and would love it if you all stopped by and gave her a bit of encouragement. It's up to you if you want to follow her as well. Here is the link to her blog called Hand In Hand.
The last update is also my most important. My husband, Steve, received a phone call last night about his mom being admitted to the hospital for irregular heartbeat. She was waiting to see if they could stabilize it enough to get her an angiogram to see what is going on in her heart.
Unfortunately as of this afternoon, they are still unable to get her heart under control again. I would love it if you could please lift his mom up in prayer and ask for God's healing hand to slow and restore her heartbeat. I would also ask that the right doctors be directed towards her to offer her the reasons for this issue and that they can find a cure for her to be released from the hospital and back at home. Her name is Vera Smith and I would love for you all to lift her needs up at this time.

Giveaway and Book Review ~ WOO HOO!
The One Day Way
By Chantel Hobbs
I am sure you have all read one diet book at some point in your life, especially if you are a woman. The problem with most is that they all sound wonderful, promise great incentives and even provide the motivation to get you going. The downfall is usually not in the book, but in us, to keep the program going until we achieve the results we are seeking.
I was given the opportunity to review this book from Chantel Hobbs through Waterbrook Mulnomah Publishers and the concept sounded great. What better way to begin any challenge to lose weight, or to define our bodies that to tackle it differently than any diet book has ever suggested. You do it one day at a time. You set daily goals not weekly, monthly or even exact dress size or pounds lost. What better way to gain success than to do it for one day. How can anyone lose motivation to achieve some form of success on a daily basis? Anyone can do that. I love how Chantel has broken down this book in different parts to provide you with all the tools necessary to guarantee success where in past methods have only led to failure for me.
I know that just making a small change such as giving up fast food for one day for me is a huge accomplishment. Can I do that for one day? Of course, I can. If I can make changes in small steps, I will succeed in this endeavor once and for all. The best part of the One Day Way is that Chantel teaches you to not compare ourselves to anyone else. We are born to compete in anything in our daily lives whether it’s our bodies, our homes, our jobs, we are live in some degree to compete with our friends, neighbors or even perfect strangers. Yet it is that competition that will also lead to our failure because we can never measure up to someone else. We will always want more or something better. However if we simply change the mindset to compare ourselves with only ourselves, we will achieve the results for the right reasons. For example, I want to lose 40 pounds to not only be healthier from a overall weight statistics but I know from past experience, I look and feel great when I weighed 150, not comparing myself to anyone else that I know that has weighed 150.
It is a great must read for anyone that has tried to lose weight and can’t, or who has lost weight only to gain it back again or just those that lack the motivation to even begin with a win in mind. Trust me, I loved this book and would love to give a copy away to anyone who would love to win a copy. Simply leave me a comment on what your motivation is, and why you would think this book may be the final shinning light you’ve needed to make that life change once and for all. I will pick a winner by January 11th and email you to let you know you’ve one, so please make sure I have a way to reach you. Trust me, this is truly worth the money spent to purchase this book.
