Bible Prophecy's Coming to Pass?

Do you think based on our current world's events that we are living in the end times?

Do you think the rapture of the church is just around the corner?

Do you think the prophecies spoken of in Daniel, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mark and Revelation are really coming to pass?

I've been a lover of Bible Prophecy since I first came to God. I spent so many years caught up in the worlds view of prophecy with astronomy, astrology and even witchcraft and the darker arts. It was just part of my childhood to remain curious about the things we can't explain yet happen anyway. That is until I knew better.

I personally feel that God drew me to Him through that curiosity and pointed out to me through some major life changing events during those times just what war was really going on in my life waging war in the unseen world for my soul.

I can remember consuming end times Bible Prophecy books that I could get my hands on. I wanted to know just how close we were to seeing all this happen. How soon was the rapture of the church going to take place?

I remember watching my first movie on the old movie projectors in church about the Rapture and quite honestly for my age, that movie did more to scare me than it did to bring me to God. I didn't want to lose my family. I certainly didn't want to be left behind either while my family was taken.

So just where does that leave us in regards to Bible Prophecy for today?

Have you been watching anything in regards to the world events? Natural disasters becoming more frequent and coming in greater intensity. Let's just take a gander at that one.

Al Gore would like us all to believe that it comes under the Global Warming umbrella, however we are seeing signs that this is not true. Places all over the globe are seeing record low temperatures or even snow and ice in places it hasn't happened to ever. Look at the headlines today. Even the once great Inconvenient Truth is being questioned that the documentation isn't exactly as accurate as they wanted.

Yet what has happened when it comes to greater intensity and greater frequency in our natural disasters. Here are the indisputable facts.

1. Earthquake in China killed 69,000
2. 2005 in Pakistan, earthquake killed 80,000
3. Tsunami in the Philippines and Malaysia in 2008, which is an underground earthquake moved the entire island of Sumatra 100 feet to the east and over 290,000 people died.
4. Hurricane Katrina in 2005 claimed at least 800 deaths.

These are just a few of the handful of daily world wide major reports that should be a warning sign to all that something is changing, something is shifting and it isn't global warming.

Mark 13: 8 "nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains."

Coincidence? Not hardly. Yet are these the things we should be concerned with as Christians? Yes and No! We should be on alert that they are happening but we will all be removed from the Earth before they get really bad, I believe.

I believe in Pre-rapture which means to me that we, as believers in Christ, will not have to endure the trials of the Tribulation period. We will be taken from here before any of that happens. This is not referred to as the second coming of Christ. We will go to meet Him, Jesus, but He will come to us. Not yet!

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 "According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left til the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. "

So we are to be encouraged. We have hope. But where does that leave us with where we are at today?

Mark 13: 2 "Do you see all these great buildings?" replied Jesus, "Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."

I believe that Jesus is referring to the destruction of the temple that Herod had built that occurred in 70 A.D. It took Herod 47 years to build it and only 7 years for it to all come down. Even the gold that used to line the top blocks of the temple were taken down and melted away for the gold. This temple has not been rebuilt since.

So I believe that the rapture is the next big event waiting to unfold, despite the call for a one world currency and the tensions going on in the middle East. That I will save for tomorrow when I take you through Ezekiel 37-39 and lay out the major players against Israel in the beginning of the Tribulation period that lies just on the horizon.

So Christians take heed and be blessed by reading this according to Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those that hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near."

Time to begin my study once again of Bible Prophecy and share the good news to all who come this way. Rejoice for there is hope!

Your words and the words of the bible are very true. Most of us just take each for granted and never reflect how close the end of time really is. I wish I had as much faith as you. It is not easy. Trust you are feeling some better.

I find Bible prophecy very interesting and I agree that we are getting close. More things are happening all the time.
Have you read Joel Rosenbergs blog? He talks about things happening in the Middle East and often talks about prophecies being fulfilled.

I too have been fascinated by Bible prophecy. It seems that the more I learn, the less I know. There is just so much to understand. Excited to see what your study reveals. Blessings, SusanD

I still have a hard time with Bible prophecy. When I saw the first movie about the Rapture, I was in 4th grade and I had nightmares for weeks. Sometimes, when I think about it, I'm okay, but there are times where I start to have what feels like a panic attack.

I'm just going to trust God that I'll be ready when it happens. :)

Great post Kat! Hence the importance to watch and pray.

If I am faithful in praying I will know what to watch for....and if I am watching I will know what to pray for.

I just hope I am living my life in such a way NOW...that when those days come that it will be a continuation for me...not an end.

I do believe what you are saying.
I do believe in God. I agree with what is happening here and what is said in the Bible. I'm just not ready for all of this to end. Yet I know that eternity will be awesome. I better get going and make sure that all my loved ones will be with me.

We will know not the time...yet I know it is important to be ready at all times. Life keeps fulfilling prophecy everyday.

I am very intriqued by the Rapture and the events leading up to it...

...but I can get very hyper-focused too with OCD tendencies...so I have to keep reminding myself that instead of focusing my efforts and/or worries into the "whens", I need to re-direct my steps in doing what I can *today* in my walk with Jesus....like Rosel (RCUBES) mentions.....I want to help and pray that more people get saved before it happens.

So with that....I am very anxious to see what is revealed to you and will be waiting (not) so patiently!!!!

I know we must live daily without fear but great anticipation of being in the Presence of our Lord. On Purpose, being a Light for all and ready with Gods Words to share with those who want to know Why we are different, set apart.

No one knows the hour ~ but we all must be ready with our lamp full, unoffended and full of love

Love you my friend

No man knoweth the time of our Lords return. I agree prophecy is being fulfilled.
We just need to keep telling others of Christ, and serving him. I sure would hate for my Lord to return and I wasn't serving Him!

This is interesting stuff Kat...I too love to read and study Bible prophecy. I'll look forward to you sharing more.

I really enjoyed Beth Moores study of Daniel last year. It spurred me on to study and read more.

Have a nice weekend!

The rapture is a believers' secret which the world can't understand. The test for us every day is - are we ready for Him to come. Enoch walked with God - and was raptured; Noah walked with God - and was faithful as left. So whether He comes today or not - walk with God!

These are exciting times for Christians. I like your quote from 1 Thess. about the second coming.

What do you do with the verse in 1 Thess. that says, "While people are sying, 'There is peace and security,' then sudden destuction will come upon them ..."? (1 Thess. 5:3). It almost sounds like the great even will happne not when we are looking for it, but when things look calm.

Great message. Thank you for sharing your views of these Scriptures with us. We do need to be alert and studying. We need to be filled with hope also. God bless you as you live for Him.

Very interesting Kat. I applaud your courage to tackle a post on this subject. It's a difficult topic because it is truly unknown to us.

You and I do have a similar background as you noted once. :) I came to Christ through my study of the book of Revelation. It was the first book of the bible I studied. I have to say I'm not sold on the pre-tribulation rapture theory. There are too many scriptures that don't line up with that so I honestly don't know. I hope your view is correct.

I bet we could have a wonderful discussion on this topic. :D

Hi Kat,
I am so thankful that my redemption is drawing near.
I believe we are living in the End Times, and that the rapture of the true church will be the next great event to take place.
I believe we are seeing all of the last day prophecies take place right before our very eyes. Praise the Lord forever more.
Your insightfulness into Bible Prophecy is so right on target and inspiring.
Blessings,
Sue

Kat, great post and not one that is taken on lightly. I am not a church going Christian, yet I do have a strong faith in God and accepted Christ as my savior when I was a young girl..I do believe we have been in the 'end times' for a while now, I don't believe it will be in my lifetime, but then its not for me to know, just a feeling..I don't think God is done with us just yet!

Wonderful message... I remember a similar movie I saw as a teen "I wish we'd all been ready" it was very scary!!

Awesome post. My heart breaks when I think of those that are refusing Christ. My prayer is for a greater burden for the lost. I can still remember as a child a preacher preaching about heaven and hell and him saying if he was a sinner he wouldn't be able to sleep at night. If I'm awaken at night, I have tried to get into the habit of praying until I fall asleep again, and asking the Lord who needs prayer, at that time. Not boasting but at times it has been you. I want to be used by God in a greater depth in these last days.

Totally with you on this! Have thought much the same for a number of years.

Bible prophecy fascinates me. It seems like everyone has a different opinion on what will happen in those days. I'm still not sure what I believe the sequence of events will be, whether we'll be raptured before or during, but I know I will spend eternity with Jesus, and I pray my loved ones will too.

Signs of the times that we know coming to an end should not be scary to us. It should be exciting! The end is just the beginning!
