EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT ME AND ARE SORRY YOU ASKED

EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT ME AND ARE SORRY YOU ASKED
Nan did this quiz on her blog momstheword and I thought it might be fun to do it too, so I borrowed her questions but wrote my own answers. Feel free to join in on the fun.

The phone rings. Who will it be?
If it is my cell phone it is my hubby just checking in or telling me he is on his way home. If it’s our home phone, its for my teenage daughter. No one ever calls for us.

When shopping at the grocery store, do you return your cart?
Yes, working in retail has a tendency to make you more self conscience of that and besides, some poor soul has to go out and get them. It’s a happy moment to make their day even if they are not aware of it.

In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener?
I am a listener which gets me labeled as anti social. The interesting thing is you learn so much more by listening than you would engaging in a conversation.

Do you take compliments well?
I used to be horrible at it, because my father and my ex husband used to tell me I would never amount to much. After years of that, you stopped believing anything good applied to you. My current hubby has helped to restore that and given me a better outlook on life.

Do you play Sudoku?
I have tried it a couple of times and would do it if there was nothing else to do.

If abandoned alone in the wilderness, would you survive?
Absolutely! I love watching all those wilderness survival shows so I think I may have just enough stored in my memory to help me to survive.

Did you ever go to camp as a kid?
Just day camp and it was a whole lot of fun. We got to do a lot of nature hikes and make all kinds of crafts!

What was your favorite game as a kid?
Hide and seek and freeze tag! We would wait until it was dark enough and cool enough to play both.

Could you date someone with different religious beliefs than you?
No, because I believe in a solid foundation is necessary before you can ever begin your life committed to one another. Without God, its just what you two contribute and face it, we can all be selfish at times.

Do you like to pursue or be pursued?
I would prefer to be pursued, of course, we are talking romantically right? Yet I have always been the one to pursue. I am a hopeful romantic and feel the need to go all out if necessary. Sometimes guys just can’t get a hint, no matter how blunt you may be.

Use three words to describe yourself?
Creative, romantic, religious

Do any songs make you cry?
Yes, especially if they are super sentimental to me in some way. Most of the worship songs can get me to tear up too!

Are you continuing your education?
I guess so, working with my teenager and my 5th grade daughters helps me stay fresh in my academics. As far as college for me personally, not enough time!

Have you ever taken pictures in a photo booth?
Yes as a teenager. Aren’t they silly!

How often do you read books?
Daily since I am now working on blogging for two publishers and love all the titles I keep getting, plus books I win at various other blogs. I think God can speak to you through those titles too!

Do you think more about the past, present or future?
More about my future since it is so unknown. You see so much pain and suffering in the world, you find it hard not to be concerned about making a difference to make things better.

What is your favorite children’s book?
All the Dr. Seuss books! I just love the rhyming words and the crazy things he thought up to entertain kids!

What color are your eyes?
Hazel, they change color in different lighting.

Where is your dream house located?
In the Pacific Northwest, set deep in a dark, lush, pine filled forest, in a log cabin, along side a beautiful river with my family!

If your house was on fire, what would be the first thing you grabbed?
My family would already be out with all my yelling, but my laptop, and photos. Nothing else matters.

When was the last time you were at Olive Garden?
Probably a few months ago. My hubby loves the soup, salad and breadsticks!

Where was the furthest place you traveled today?
About 7 miles to pick my teenager up from school.

Do you like mustard?
It is my condiment of choice for most of my sandwiches and hotdogs!

Do you prefer to sleep or eat?
Sleep since it where I am not really bugged for anything and the dream world is all my own.

Do you look like your mom or dad?
People say I look like my mom!

How long does it take you in the shower?
About 5 minutes. I try to be water conscience.

Can you do the splits?
Not even close. Not even when I was a kid. But I can sure make a mean banana split!

What movie do you want to see right now?
The new Twilight sequel, New Moon. It’s been on my radar since I found out it was going to continue all the way through all her books.

What did you do for New Year’s?
Stay home, stay safe and head to be early. Too many crazy people out, but I have always wanted to attend a really great fancy New Years Eve party where people get all dressed up!

Do you think The Grudge was scary?
Yes, I hated that creepy kid who would meow like a cat!

Do you own a camera phone?
Nope, my current phone does not possess that unique quality!
What’s the last letter of your middle name?
N!

How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
About 8 if I am lucky and everyone else stays in bed at night and nothing goes bump!

Do you like Care Bears?
I did when I was a kid, I thought their message was good for kids to know.

What do you buy at the movies?
Besides my ticket, a big bucket of popcorn with lots of butter and salt. I have to share with everyone!

Do you know how to play poker?
Kinda of, but wouldn’t be good at it for career or big winnings. Just luck I guess!

Do you wear your seat belt?
Yes, always. It has saved me many, many times!

How many meals do you eat a day?
Usually two, I skip breakfast unless a large coffee counts!

Do you like funny or serious people better?
I like either, they have their strong points!

Ever been to L.A.?
Yes but I don’t care for it.

Did you eat a cookie today?
Not yet, it’s still like 8:10am

Do you hate chocolate?
Never, unless it’s bittersweet! I don’t care for that, but prefer dark chocolate.

Are you a gullible person?
Not generally, I tend to be a bit suspicious of most people.

Are you easy to get along with?
Most of the time. People have a tendency of judging me based on my quietness and therefore stay away.

Love your answers sis! You are a neat lady:) Love, Laurie
(I think I have a lot of the same answers- I listen more, I wouldn't marry someone from a different religion, I am always learning/reading in teaching my little ones.)

The one about "do you take compliments well" broke my heart. I'm glad your husband is able to lift you up. I don't even "know" you in real life, but I know that you are a beautiful, creative, and kind person. I know the hurt that loved ones can bring with their harsh words. I hope you have healed a lot of those wounds.
Big hugs,
Elle

Fun getting to know you better! I am a listner also and people sometimes think I am anti-social or are put off by the fact that I am quiet. I am just not good at small talk and it is my nature to be quiet.

Such fun to read...Inever would have thought you were quiet in real life or that anyone would ever see you as "anti-social". You see so kind and definitely someone I would love to know in real life....

Wonderful answers Kat. I did marry someone of another religion. When we are young, sometimes we just don't consider the consiquences. We have worked it out, he prays the holidays with his families, but he is in church with me. It's 10:30pm in NJ and I haven't had my cookie today. Think it's time now.

This will probably be my post for tomorrow. There are a few things about you that surprised me. I don't really know why because there is no way I could make any kind of an assessment no longer than we have "known" each other. It somehow made me feel closer to you. Looking forward to many more blogs...

God Bless,
Mimmy

I know what you mean about the quietness. I have a friend who is quiet and at first she seemed rather aloof and not overly friendly.

But she's very friendly, it's just that you have to get to know her first. Her hubby is quiet too, and most people think that he doesn't like them because of his quietness, lol!

His wife is always having people ask her if he dislikes them, lol!

This was fun, thanks for doing it!

I loved reading your answers here...this was a good quiz...I liked the questions and think I'll come back and post it on my blog one of these days...maybe next week?

The grocery cart thing is one of my pet peeves...I hate flying carts!

I don't think I pictured you as quiet... I imagine though that alot of quiet people find blogging a great way to put their thoughts out there in a more comfortable setting. I definitely imagine you as easy to get along with : )

I am really loving reading all your answers. I can relate to the part about believing something that you have heard for so long. So glad that God has brought you healing. You are a gem of a lady Kat.

I think I will try this myself.

Much love!

That was interesting Kat! I like learning more about people. I am still a Dr. Seuss girl (smile). I agree with being on the same foundation in a relationship and I can definitely see you as a listener more than a talker. You are very engaged with people. I appreciate that about you. Thanks for sharing with us.
