But He's quick to remind me that I act the same way at times. I agree with the need to remember. Often quoted is the scripture regarding forgetting those things that are behind me but I do believe (and the scripture you mention and others support) there are some things we do need to keep in rememberance. I once read a book where the author stated she kept a bread basket with artifical bread on which she had written prayers that had been answered. When we're in a storm our mind tends to focus on the here and now but remembering the past can helps reminds of God's faithfulness. Like the idea of a storm journal as well. I completely agree with you that we all do the same...of how we keep complaining, forgetting His goodness which is not only once but all the time...That's a great idea, too - to have that Storm Journal. There is nothing like writing it down, all the victories you have as you sail through life's storms. Knowing that He is there with you, never abandoning you. He is all around us. We just don't desire to see Him in those things sometimes, I think or fail to see those signs [of His love]...On a break but I just want to come by and visit you and wish you a great day! She has been battling leukemia for years. She was sharing some of the present problems and they are fierce, but her focus was on one miracle the Lord did for her in the midst of it. I could hardly believe it. As a person who has experienced physical problems, I know the cloud of discouragement that tries to descend upon one's mind. Yet here she was, focusing on the one ray of hope. I have been praying for the grace to praise Him on the mountains of difficulties and in those valley times. This praise is not a stilted rehearsal but a simple response to His love. Only by His grace. Thanks for the needed reminder.GraceGalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05360535249893279370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8010793210731350931.post-63538605754920771862010-06-23T05:00:29.093-07:002010-06-23T05:00:29.093-07:00I love the passage you quoted from Deut 4:9.

It is so important to develop character in accordance with the heart of God.

I've been in a very tumultous storm for over a year now, and at times it has seemed so overwhelming to me. I know when I first started reading through the bible, I thought Sheesh these people are stupid; all they do is WHINE. How many signs do they need?? You know what though? Somewhere along the line it hit me that we do exactly the same thing. Maybe we don't have the big obvious signs they had in the Old Testament, but we definitely have enough of them that we should know better (of course that doesn't stop me from complaining like a nitwit - that's where those Divine Headthumps come in...oy :o)Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17608579972739041880noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8010793210731350931.post-15045604830292982632010-06-23T02:31:49.862-07:002010-06-23T02:31:49.862-07:00Cool clever idea a Storm journal.
